Los Verdes Golf Course

Worst golf experience of my life. Paired with two 10 yr olds who knew nothing about golf etiquette. Were constantly screaming throughout the round, would hit their ball and then stand in front of you when it was my turn to hit. Constantly had to ask them to move just so I could hit without fear of hitting them. Was looking forward to a nice relaxing round, not parenting two children that shouldn’t have been let on the course unsupervised. On top of that, the course was not in good condition and the pace of play was beyond slow. Not worth my time or money to even consider coming back here.

First time playing here. Course is fun and challenges you on many different shots. Got paired up with nice people. Only thing for me was that it’s a shorter course. I recognized that it was a par 70, but some holes seemed even too easy. Conditions were fine. Tons of divot marks in the greens. Had to repair random marks before many of my putts. Would play again.

Couple of suspect greens but otherwise it’s always a great course for the money (which is why it’s tough to get times).

Did they even punch? Do the greens keepers even know what they’re doing or even care? The tee boxes are trashed. They didn’t even pour sand on them to smooth them out while they punched the greens. Fairways were just not cut so it appears as though there’s grass but it’s just all clumpy multitude of all types of turf like it’s been for years and years. No rough, as always, just the usual crusty dry junk. At least the fairways are soft so the ball won’t run out too much right now, but again, this course is backwards in design in that sense, where the fairways need to be softish to hold balls from rolling down the sideways slopes, but there’s no rough to catch any balls that do go too far down the sides that go rolling into the dry, caked mud rough areas under the trees between the fairways. Seriously though: greenskeepers hadn’t done much to the course, so they have had days and days and days during all this time to just put some sand and seed down on the tee boxes to make then playable. It’s downright robbery to make people pay these higher prices when the course is not being looked after. Most of the greens looked like they hadn’t even been punched last month, they already have semi fungus indentation and scarred areas. Clearly didn’t sand them enough. Seriously. They can’t spend one day, just one day, to make the tees better, at least the tee boxes???? Nobody’s doing anything with the bunkers, there’s no rakes in them nor barely any sand, so they have time to do the tee boxes!!! It’s so sad. Truly sad.

Fairways are full of smutgrass and the pace of play lives up to its reputation... will be awhile before i come back to this track

Love this course, worth the money, but very difficult to get a tee time.

Played here on Thanksgiving day so it wasn't packed at all and was able to finish in about 4 hours and 10 minutes or so. I heard that this golf course is usually super backed up in general, but thankfully it wasn't for us.

The lady working at the cafe / restaurant is extremely friendly and helpful so kudos to her!

The course itself was in great shape, especially the greens which were nearly perfect with no divot marks, but these greens are extremely tough and challenging. The layout of the course is nice, but nothing special. But you seriously can't complain since almost every hole has an ocean view and on some holes you're hitting towards the ocean!

It's not an extremely difficult course, although I must say that these greens were the most frustrating greens I've played on in a very long time.

Overall, I would love to play here again when it's not so busy!

I have played Los Verdes plenty of times. It is a great course, however it is poorly operated from a staff perspective. I arrived at the pro shop, 4 minutes past our tee time, on a course that was already backlogged 1 or 2 groups. (We had already waited on a delayed time) The pro shop staff used our tardiness, from the driving range where we were waiting, to cancel our tee-time and move up other groups. They apologized that there was nothing to do as they already moved up other groups to match original times. All the while we had waited due to the delays. The pro shop staff apologized and didn’t require us to pay any fees for their mistake. However, they continued to charge us through Golf Now for “missing” our tee time a week later.

Sorry folks, but I’ve had it with the place. The money is NOT worth it just because the course is on the cliff above the ocean with nice views. Who cares about that really, I’m out there to play good golf and not be staring at the water on a couple holes. I would just go to the actual beach if wanted to relax and hang out at the water.

This course needs to be stripped and resodded. Besides the greens, nobody is looking after the rest of the course. It’s time. They need to either strip it all and re-sod or punch the whole course, re-seed it properly and flatten the areas that have sunk and or have died from years of neglect.

It’s not acceptable to see the course take money from people in the conditions it’s in. Besides the fact that most of the people who play here are locals who just come to walk the course because it’s near the ocean with cool breezes to hit a few balls and not actually play good golf, since they also don’t fix divots nor ballmarks on the greens, it’s such a sad place. It’s really shocking that they continue to just leave dead areas as they are for years and years and years like this. A whole decade have passed and it’s in the same shape I saw it back then. A whole decade! Imagine if you let your own things go like this, what would happen? So so sad.

I teed off at 5:50 am got joined up with 3 lovely ladies in their mid 50's . Fast round even though they walked 3 1/2 hr round! They golf shop was very accommodating. Bryan got me in for a replay around 9:50am. The only thing that was unenjoyable was the Starter. He was way Too Serious ! I understand he probably volunteers to get free golf but I talked to at least 4 other golfers he rubbed the wrong way. Please let him Marshal because he is Horrible as a Starter!!!!

Due to COVID, tee times were pushed back from 7 minutes to 10 minutes. This has greatly helped pace of play! Twilight for $16 is the best golf deal around.
