Stop playing here so they make changes
Staff is useless, I saw the ambassador a total of zero times while on the course. unless you’re out there to drink and just hangout don’t go because you won’t be playing a lot of golf
Slow and mismanaged
This play will over put 10 groups in a 30 min window of tee times and expect you to be ok with waiting 45 min after your original tee time in a long line. It’s terrible, a beauty of a property but Jesus these people just want the money and don’t give a f&@k about the experience. I’ve never had a golf cart that has got through all 18 holes, I’ve never finished the round happy with how it went. I always leave frustrated and wondering why I even drove up here. Won’t be going back!
Poorly managed
Tee time was at 1:45p we were not able to tee off until 2:15 due to a children’s golf camp. The fact groups are waiting for the 10 kids to go through the lessons and shots. . Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great thing to have children engaged in the sport. It’s not the kids who are to blame for the lack of keep any kind of pace. Maybe the staff could be honest with the patrons and tell them exactly what they are going to be faced with for the first nine holes. Possibly the groups and the class tee times can be spread out a bit to help with the congestion.
Slow and staff is horrible.
Slow slow slow. Cart broke down twice. Took an hour to get a replacement cart. Guy working the pro shop was horrible. Didn’t even apologize for the cart breaking down or the hour long wait to get a new cart. Do not play here!!!!!
Fix pace of play!
Decent day at LV. Greens good, fairways and rough decent but with some inconsistent patches of dirt, bunkers good. It was cold and foggy so the ocean views weren’t really a factor. And that’s why you come here for only $45, despite the fact that a round that starts 10
minutes late at 7:30 on a weekday takes 5 hours. Simply unacceptable. Always has been, and clearly will never change no matter how many people beg them to do something about it.
Good, except...
Los Verdes is in good shape right now. Greens were great. Fairways pretty good, as was the rough, though there are plenty of inconsistent patches in both. Overall good muni conditions for $45 with ocean views. Teed off at 7:40 for a 7:30 tee time on a weekday and our round took just over 5 hours, which is not acceptable. The knock against this place is and always will be pace of play, and I wish so badly that they’d do something about it, but I’m pretty sure they never will.
Hidden Gem but super slow
This will quickly be one of my favorite courses when I am looking for an escape from Los Angeles. The overlooks are fantastic and you basically get to see the ocean most of play. The fairways range from tight to wide and you can expect a lot of speed on the green. Honestly had a blast.
It is well know though and expressed by the staff that the course is always packed. My recommendation is schedule for later in the day when the fee drops to $16 and come early
What a deal
Had a buddy in from out of town and wanted to show him the best of Los Angeles and this course did not disappoint. Unbelievable views from a beautiful golf course. I had read going in that pace of play was an issue but honestly it wasn't worse than many other courses in the city, finished in just under 5 hours from a 12:45pm tee time. Had to wait on a few holes longer than we would have liked but for under $50 on the ocean like that I will take it every day.
Do something
The course plays tooooooooooo sloooooowwww...
Always! Too many people, too many 5 groups, and no one to rush people along!
SoCal Gem
Los Verdes is the absolute gem of Southern California’s golf scene. Nooked in the hills of the beautiful and calm Rancho Palos Verdes it offers great value with ocean views on almost every hole. Given it is a public golf course with such a great value, you have to account that the pace of play will be a bit clogged at times. It really isn’t bad though, as you look to your left and see the amazing ocean views. Don’t judge a book by its cover though, as the rough on this course can be very thick. Tip: account for slopes when hitting your shots!
Best public course with the worst pace of play.
This is so excellent that everyone wants to play here. Biggest issue is the pace of play. the slowest pace and longest rounds i have ever played. don’t be surprised at 5-6 hour rounds.
