Los Verdes Golf Course

We got out at 6:07 with the sunrise at 7 am. So the first two hole we played completely dark! After that we really loved the course! Amazing views in pretty much every hole! The greens were in great conditions and the rest of the course was in good overall condition with only a couple of rough patches here and there. Most of the complaints regarding this course are about the pace of play but that really didn’t affect us as we were the second group out, however we did see a couple of 5-some.

There are a lot of beginners and 5 people playing.

Unfortunately, this course allows 5 somes. This is one of the reasons why the pace is a little bit slower than norm. But on the back nine, with the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, why would you hurry and pick up your pace. This course has always been my favorite, when it comes to the views.

The back niners skip from the 17th hole and start number 11 again, and the course does nothing about this, thus causing the worst pace of play ever, then the players from the day before never rake the sand traps and there are craters in the bunkers

Played yesterday and got out so early that we needed to use glow balls on the first hole. It was so worth it because it was the fastest I have ever played Los Verdes. We played 18 in just under 4 hours and did not catch anyone until the 13th hole. Playing this course at any normal time it is the slowest course in Southern Calif. They have too many dumb people hitting from the blues that shouldn't and a weak Marshall staff that does not push the pace of play. Golf should not take 5.5 to 6 hours as it becomes a chore .

When I saw the poor reviews regarding this course, I thought to myself, how bad could it really be? Don’t get me wrong, for a municipal course, it wasn’t in bad condition. The layout and difficulty of this course was just right, challenging you to pick the right club for every shot, doglegs both right and left, and well placed bunkers that made you think twice before going after pin positions on a small green. The fairways were in fair condition, greens were smooth and ran moderate, plus the views of the gulf coast were spectacular. What really messes up this course is the pace of play, especially on the par 3s. We started the round at 1:30pm and finished at exactly 7:35pm! The waiting between holes was extremely unbearable. If it hadn’t been for the awesome weather, I probably would have called it quits early. There were several marshals on the course but neither paid any attention to pace of play nor encouraged golfers to speed up. If they can figure out how to improve pace of play, this would be a nice course to play on.

Expected a slow round and got one. Course in sold shape greens held shots well and were slightly slower than usual. Great course for the price but SLOWWWWW

prepare for a minimum of 6 hour round watching hacks hit 150 off the tee and wait on the 2nd shot of 250 until the green is clear. The only way to enjoy the scenery and the round is to take a book to occupy yourself in between shots.

Course is very nice. Challenging from the blue tees. Many different types of holes and great scenery.

Pace of play very slow. 16 holes in about 4-20. Staff could be a little friendlier.

Overall I'd do it again.

I had 12-36pm tee time.Played only 12 holes.Front of me played 7 people one group.Twice pick up my ball.I complained twice.There are doesn't care too much.I want to have a free round or money back.

Only downside is length of time to play a round. Can’t be done in less than 5.5 hours since just about every booking is a group of 5.

Fairways are beat up. Tee boxes all even. Greens run fast and true
