Golfer Reviews
What a deal
Had a buddy in from out of town and wanted to show him the best of Los Angeles and this course did not disappoint. Unbelievable views from a beautiful golf course. I had read going in that pace of play was an issue but honestly it wasn't worse than many other courses in the city, finished in just under 5 hours from a 12:45pm tee time. Had to wait on a few holes longer than we would have liked but for under $50 on the ocean like that I will take it every day.
Do something
The course plays tooooooooooo sloooooowwww...
Always! Too many people, too many 5 groups, and no one to rush people along!
SoCal Gem
Los Verdes is the absolute gem of Southern California’s golf scene. Nooked in the hills of the beautiful and calm Rancho Palos Verdes it offers great value with ocean views on almost every hole. Given it is a public golf course with such a great value, you have to account that the pace of play will be a bit clogged at times. It really isn’t bad though, as you look to your left and see the amazing ocean views. Don’t judge a book by its cover though, as the rough on this course can be very thick. Tip: account for slopes when hitting your shots!
Best public course with the worst pace of play.
This is so excellent that everyone wants to play here. Biggest issue is the pace of play. the slowest pace and longest rounds i have ever played. don’t be surprised at 5-6 hour rounds.
good layout but...
My wife and I played a 2 ball on a Saturday, which we knew would not be a speedy round, when we found we were playing behind groups of 5 balls we were not impressed, it took 5 1/2 hours to complete our round. There was at no time any mention that the club allows 5 balls an extremely unusual situation for us. That aside, we found the layout to be really good, the greens were in equally good order, but the remainder of the course was not up to the same standard unfortunately.
The course offers some great views, but, I would not suggest you play Los Verdes unless you have virtually a full day available.

I cannot explain how depressing my experience at this golf course was.
Driving an hour and a half to play, I was paired with 2 random gentleman (great guys) and was playing with a buddy. I brought my girlfriend along who is just beginning, but was going to stay in the cart and soak up the views. I was charged an extra 25$ to have her ride with me, which is absurd IMO. I have worked at plenty of courses over the years and also have played a couple and have never heard of anything over $5.
The tee time was 12:36PM and we did not tee off for another hour, and finished hole 18 at 7:16PM.
No round of golf should ever take that long. I really wanted to speak to the Pro (if this place even has one, as not one person I spoke to on property really knew anything about golf), but the Pro Shop was quickly cleared out by the time anyone really got off of the golf course. Carts hadn't been cleaned and it was a disaster.
I have never had a bad time on a golf course in my whole life, but can no longer claim that as yesterday was miserable.
I urge anyone that is a mildly serious golfer and remotely has a life, please avoid playing this place. Go to Tarranea Par 3. The place is pristine and is a way better value, even paying to replay!
Los Verdes
Los Verdes is a beautiful course overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The course itself is in great condition. With that being said, the course is very popular and a lot of people play. The pace is extremely slow.
Fairways was rock hard with patches grass. With all the rain we just had, It should be a lot better. Very disappointing
Never again
Arrived 30 early on to be told they were running 10 minutes behind...when we got on the course every hole had a delay of 10 minutes or more...looks like they over book this course all the time...the delays were so bad that after the 3rd hole we thought about asking for a refund but since it takes us more then an hour to get to the course we decided to stay...also ordered from the cafe the steak sandwich $14...was smaller then a happy meal cheese burger...stay away from this course as this will be a waste of your time
Los Verdes 2/2019
Friendly staff, putting, chipping greens and driving range awaits your arrival. Today’s round had a slight delay to our start. Slow play prevailed throughout the day and we were not able to complete 18 holes with a. 12:30 tee time. The course was in good condition with all of the recent rain. Greens are fast!
Looking forward to play this course again.
Wonderful course
A wonderful course......as we all know pace little slow it the views are amazing!!!
A very special course because of its layout warm atmosphere and ocean breeze!!!
Slow round
Too many korean people , started 45 mins late and was only able to play 11 holes dur to dark.
Great golf with amazing views!
We got out at 6:07 with the sunrise at 7 am. So the first two hole we played completely dark! After that we really loved the course! Amazing views in pretty much every hole! The greens were in great conditions and the rest of the course was in good overall condition with only a couple of rough patches here and there. Most of the complaints regarding this course are about the pace of play but that really didn’t affect us as we were the second group out, however we did see a couple of 5-some.
Too slow
There are a lot of beginners and 5 people playing.
slow play
Unfortunately, this course allows 5 somes. This is one of the reasons why the pace is a little bit slower than norm. But on the back nine, with the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, why would you hurry and pick up your pace. This course has always been my favorite, when it comes to the views.
slow play
The back niners skip from the 17th hole and start number 11 again, and the course does nothing about this, thus causing the worst pace of play ever, then the players from the day before never rake the sand traps and there are craters in the bunkers
How are you okay with starting a round of golf at 12:30 and not completing?
