Sarasota National Golf Club

The staff was nice and friendly. Beverage cart almost non existent. Played the silver tees. Probably should have played gold.

Paid $95.00 definitely not worth it. . I would have thought a rate worth the drive from Sarasota would have been $65.00 on GolfNow

I've played this course for at least 5 years. Have always enjoyed until this year. Many things have changed since last my last play date in 2016. First the condition has deteriorated to a level not easy to explain except to say very poorly maintain. Second, the staff and on course amenities have changed to very poor. Third, the pace of play was very slow (I mean berry slow) and never marshalled. Overall very bad experience. The only thing that hadn't changed was the price.

Shame on you Sarasota National!!!!!

Second time in a month that the round was brutally slow. Tee times are supposed to be 9 minutes apart, but the starter is pushing for 6. Also, they are 'fitting' members in where they can. At $83, I don't expect to play a round of golf taking longer than 4 1/2 hours. One par 3 had four groups on it. Ridiculous and disrespectful to the paying customer.

PERFECT TO THE NINES/ GROUNDS KEEPER IS ON TOP AT HIS JOB.OTHER COURSES NEED TO TAKE A LOOK. YOU CAN SEE THAT A LOT OF CARE HAS BEEN APPLIED. GREAT COURSE, WILL BE BACK SOON.

1200 homes being built around this beautiful course. Construction equipment along every fairway and detours between holes through dirt paths. If you forget about all of this it’s a wonderful well manicured course.

The wind conditions made our round difficult, but the course is great! I look forward to playing it again.

This course is semi-private with a wonderful layout that makes you hit all the clubs in your bag with the best Bermuda greens I've putted on in a long time. The greens held the approach shots very well, rolled perfectly, and the grass was pristine. There were a few bare spots around the fairways but overall I would highly suggest playing it. You will not be disappointed at any handicap level.

The greens were smooth and fast and more undulations than I am used to. The pin placement areas were challenging to hit to have a good chance at birdie. Long distances from greens to the next tee on several holes. The cart paths were in terrible condition because they appeared to have been rototilled. I had a hard time with depth perception on some holes because the trees and vegetation around the course has not matured yet but the members we were paired with had great advise on where to hit the tee ball to avoid trouble. I think it is a must play course if you are in the area.

I have played this course many times and was disappointed, for the first time, in its condition. The fairways were dry and the bunkers were inconsistent with sand levels and some rocks.

Nice open course with short rough. A lot of new home construction all around the course. But all that was good until #7 where we run into 5 different groups stacked up (one on the green, fairway, tee box, and 2 of us waiting). If was horrible, ranger did come around and said he addressed it with the slow group but only got slightly better.

It was an agonizing pace of play. Need for course management.

Tremendous day at Sarasota National. Whenever Golf Now has an offering this good (less than 1/3 of the Winter Rate) you have to take advantage of the situation. All good, tee boxes, fairways and rough, greens, and overall, excellent day. Two drawbacks:the day before it rained so cart paths only and the bunkers were extremely hard sand. Will try to play again when the price is right. Overall, a very nice track.

But unfortunately the new home construction around the holes has turned it into a dusty barron looking golf course. That is especially unfortunate since it is an Audubon rated course. Many of the ponds were half full; I saw an alligator who was covered in mud and dust; the number of birds had greatly dipped from previous years. While the home construction is inevitable, it’s very unfortunate that it’s not being done in a manner that better protects the golf course. It was a big disappointment. The fairways and greens are in very good shape and it’s such a shame, because it once was our favorite course in the Sarasota/Venice area.

I was frustrated at check in because they said Golfnow did not communicate my confirmed reservation. They got me on in short order. Course was in great shape.

Second time playing this course and enjoyed it even more this time. Challenging layout great greens, like carpet! Only drawback is construction going on but that can be overlooked.

We paid good money to play this course, but were shocked that the course currently is in the middle of a building site. The positive aspect was the greens which were true, undulating and fast.

We were disappointed at the attitude of the stafff as we had a pre-round coffee clearly at the aggravation of the server who sighed and was clearly unhappy when we asked to swap lukewarm and stewed coffee for a fresh cup. The pro in the shop was also not very welcoming, again quite disappointing.

We were also annoyed and frustrated that we were following a 5-ball group (illegal) for the second 9 of our round. When we mentioned this at the end of the round, we faced indifference but agreement that a 5-ball should not have been allowed.

We would not return to this course, and would not recommend it to our friends.

Driver friendly, but tough greens. Nice layout, good shape. Often windy. For the price, should have GPS on carts. Also on the front nine especially, the construction really ruins the ambiance. I realize they need to build, but it seems overwhelming. Has gotten a bit pricey over the past few years.
