Everything went fine, but starter rushed us out to fill in a likely cancellation, so no time to warm up or putt.
Fairways cut close, and greens VERY close, so were lightning fast. Had great weather, so had a good afternoon.

Very interesting lay out. Great staff. Good practice area. Very fast greens. Pace of play was a little slow and we missed ranger.

Everything went smoothly, practice area was great with three separate areas; one for driving, one for chipping and one for putting. Greens were relatively fast which I like and pace of play went fine with out foursome finishing up in four hours. We are going to be back. J. David Jones

Not in as good a shape as last year. No grass in fairways.Busy 19th hole. Took 20 minutes to get a beer order.

5inches of rain yesterday closed course. We played today. Cart paths only with about 20 mph wind. Course played long but fairways and greens excellent

Even though it had rained a lot. The course drained well and was a nice layout

The change from a year ago in the course is dramatic. They site lines have dramatically improved.

I have played Sarasota National for 5 years or more. The staff does a great job and treat you like family.
The course is much improved since Troon took it over and I would expect it to only get better.
I'm a 2 handicap and the course can play very tough if the wind is up, which it generally is. Birdies are hard to come by unless you hit it close.
Bring your friends for a great day of fun, you won't be disappointed.

While this is a nice course, I do not feel it is worth splurging on.

I had wanted to play this course for 2 years, largely due to online reviews and the professional look of the website and reputable Troon name.

SN is a very open course, with wide fairways. This course was in great condition and would challenge any calibre of golfer.

However, for $65US (or $80 CAD), it was hardly a 'value course.' This course is situated on many acres of vacant land, which makes it a quite 'boring' round as many holes seemed similar to one another. There are very few picturesque "Florida" holes, which would have made the round more memorable.

This is not a bad course at all, it is in good condition and likely appeals to the high-handicappers with its openness, but it is not one I would return to or recommend. For the money go and play Kingsway or Riverwood (when not overseeded) as you will get a better "Florida Golf" experience.

Perhaps in 20 years, when the full golf course community is complete, would I recommend or return to this course...but by then the price will be even higher!

Of course, this review is compared to my expectations going in, so take it as you will.

Shoot low!

Plenty of action with bunkers in play. Greens were fast and pristine. It looks like they took a lot of the brush that runs around the ponds away, which I finds speeds up the course so that your not hunting to find your golf balls. Anyway, It was nice round of golf.

We started play on a poor weather day as we had pre-paid with Golf Now.
Going down the first hole it started raining.
My wife quit after 1 hole.
I played the second hole and we returned to the clubhouse and inquired about a raincheck.

We were told we were not eligible for a raincheck as we were Golf Now customers, not their customers. We were told to call Golf Now.

A better trained staff, could have been more accomodating to get us to return.
They could have offered us a raincheck, a partial raincheck, a 2 for 1, a gift card or any incentive to come back and spend money agian with them as we were in the area for several more days.

The golf course choose to stand behind their no raincheck policy and lost the opportunity for us to spend money wiith them.
Did not seem to be a wise business decision made by the proshop staff

If not for the barren construction landscape surrounding the course I would have easily rated this course excellent. The course is in great condition and has an enjoyable routing. It is very generous off the tee and although there is considerable movement once on the greens the putting surface made us feel like it was a pro level experience. It will be at the top of our list of courses to play during next years vacation. It was fun.

Perfect weather, perfect conditions and perfect pairing which the course set up. Very friendly and actually started earlier than booked and played in 4 hrs. What more can you ask for - well maybe a better score;-)

The course was in great condition as usual. there is a lot of construction happening around the facility, but course still played well. well recommended if your in the area.

Everyone was courteous and quick. I came as a single and got set up with another player and went out as a double. we waited only a few times but overall pace of play was quick. The course is challenging but the layout (which they supply) is necessary for first timers.
