Sarasota National Golf Club

Really great layout and test for any golfer. Fair tee placements and everything can be seen from the tee that needs to be seen. Plenty of bunkers to challenge and plenty of undulation in the greens. You will use all of your clubs. Greens roll great and are pretty quick. Excellent practice facility. However, I am not a fan of water driving ranges.

Love this course, Actually liked it so much i bought a house there on number. Club house is under construction and will add to experience when completed. WCI has put some money into the conditions over the last year and it shows, can't wait to see the final project should be great. if your in the area don't miss this one the green are the best around for sure..

I really enjoyed this course. Very nice greens, tees an fairways. I had a pretty bad day on the course but i could still make an ok score. From the tees it is wide, it is almost impossible to miss. Except if you go in the water off course. Highly recomend this course. Only down side was the renovation of club house, so no food after round if you want to.

I'm a bogey golfer from Chitown and love playing in SW Fla. The course sits on a huge development that died in the infancy stages (probably housing market bust) but has been brought back to life. Homes and condos are sprouting up along with a massive clubhouse/entertainment/dining option. This is NOT in Sarasota. It's about 60 minutes away south in Venice. No dining. No bar. Just golf which was cool with me. The fairways are wide open. I hit like over 90% of the fairways but only 2 greens - ouch. The greens are small with lots of undulations. But at the end of the day - fair. Just have to step up your game. I probably shot 97 which is a bit loftier than normal. Nice driving range which is included I the price. Look for deals. I trimmed about $20 off my Bill going on line. Worth the drive from Sarasota.

The course is very nice, very fair and very challenging. The greens were very quick and rolled true. The fairways and tees were in good shape as well as the rough. We played the gold tees . It would be nice if they good add another set of tees between the gold and black or add some yards to the gold tees to make it 6800-6900 yards. I have already set up another tee time! A must play ion Venice.

It was a very enjoyable round I thought the course was set up to challenge golfers of all abilities. No restaurant just sandwiches from the clubhouse. Still I enjoyed the course

I have played this course yearly and find that it may be going in the wrong direction. It's a very enjoyable course that was once pristine. Now it seems to be a a little less well kept. As an avid golfer I feel confident recommending this course to anyone looking for a upper end course to play, however it's not as excellent as it once was. It seems a little more money is going into the development at Sarasota National than the course. All the surrounding tress and bushes have been cleared around the development yielding a very windswept course to play. If you are a below average player you may be frustrated at the added obstacle of the wind.

Sarasota National is a course that can be counted on year round to be in great condition. From tee to green it is always enjoyable to playing, the recent improvements to the waste areas, water hazards and conservation areas have made the course just beautiful to look at from all angles. The course is fair but challenging pin locations will test even the best golfers. I have only one complaint, I would like to see the fairways allowed to grow just a bit. Love this course.

Mature course in new building development, quite bare scenicly with open wide fairways. Was not allowed to check in until 15 minutes before tee time??? No clubhouse, can't even get a beer

The golf course is in very good condition - reall never had a bad lie. The holes are varied and interesting. Landing areas are extremely generous and the approaches and putting more challenging. Their time standard for a round of golf is 4:16 which, in my view, is way too long for an actual round of golf much less a standard! It actually took us a bit over 4:30 - hard to stay interested that long. Marshals were on the course but not apparently concerned about pace of play. Over all a positive experience but would have been far better had the round been playable in less tha. 4 hours.

I was added to a group of nice guys from Ohio , and a single female with a decent 15 handicap isn't always welcomed warmly. We had very blustery winds and firm greens typical in Florida in winter so dropping the ball short to roll up was the better strategy. This is a very good course and pace of play was very good. You can't get into a lot of trouble unless you really spray some shots, nothing tricky.

Excellent course. best I have played in the Sarasota/Venice area. Little windy but no big deal.

Enjoyed our round. Great facilities:driving range, clubhouse and course. Definitely going back! Price should be lower after 1 pm. Took 4.5 hrs to play. Teed off at 1:50. Players behind us probably finished in dark. Don't go looking for balls hit off fairway! Lots of wildlife!!!

Start time was on schedule. Was moved up one tee time to allow for more time to finish the full 18 holes. Nice fairways and greens. First time playing since arriving to Florida. I will play again and would recommend this course to my friends and family.

Secured an excellent price on GolfNow. Unfortunately for us, it rained. Excellent drainage. Course was in superb condition despite the rain. Greens and fairways beautiful. Lots of water and alligators, including one that one buzzing by our cart while we were on the cart path. Would recommend strongly this course and will play it again. Have played many courses in Tampa/Sarasota area. This course was the second best. When the restaurant is completed in October, it might become number one. BTW, left my starter wife in Sarasota about thirty years ago.

The course conditions were excellent. They were up to what I would expect from a quality Troon network golf course. The fairways were pretty wide open so it wasn't a particularly challenging round but it was still a lot of fun to play. I will definitely be back to play when we visit my father-in-law again.

Sarasota National is impressive. They are in the middle of building a massive Clubhouse as well as beautiful homes throughout the property however, they are not "in the way". The Construction is not distracting so don't let that stop you from enjoying the course.

We live close by and are excited to call Sarasota National our "go to" course when in Florida.
