Pace of play
They way over booked for the day. Longest round of golf I have ever played. I was a single player. I was paired with someone on the front 9 and he left at the turn because it took almost 3hrs to play 9. I stuck it out on the back and regret it. It took over 5 hour 30 min to play as a single. Was bored out of mind my mind. Won’t go back. Bookings were wide open or I wouldn’t have booked. There was no way for me to tell that it was overbooked. Was misleading and wasn’t warned that it was full when I arrived or I would have left before I went out.
MUCH improved
Used to come here often until it turned to crap but happy to see it playable again. The greens are GREEN again, slow but in great shape. The fairways are not bad at all, not sure why the hate from other reviewers. Will start playing again regularly with the conditions and being open given everyone who forgot about it
Ok golf
Nothing extra spectacular. The greens are very fast. Fairways we're a little bit dry but in most cases there was grass enough to play the ball. They ball settled down deep in the rough making it difficult if you weren't in the fairways. It was very challenging for me as a 80-year-old player. Would play again if I can get a discount from golf now but I wouldn't pay full price since I am a conservative spender.
Nice Course in Good Condition
First time playing here. Overall, a solid course. Layout is a little goofy on the back nine but very scorable from any set of tee’s. Greens and fairways seem to be in good shape. A little slow with what seemed like a lot of “regulars” playing matches and staff allowing them to do whatever they want (including changes to the tee sheet - I had a 10:30a tee time booked through GolfNow and was told 2 other foursomes also had the 10:30 slot by the starter). Will be back and play it again soon.
Upgraded Greens
They did a great job on the greens. They were decently fast, very green and nice. Little more time they will be even better. Lexington oaks one of the best in the area. Some. Of the fairways need some work but it's not awful. B- for them. A- for greens. Tees were a B. Will definitely be back!
They installed hitting mats on the driving range and they are terrible. Paper thin. You do a session on those and your joints will hurt. So I would only warm up a few shots in them. Just my opinion
Much improved
Great improvement greens nice and true fairway in great shape
Great improvement
Give Lexington Oaks a ton of credit. They made some great improvements that are very noticeable. Course and greens were in great shape. The only knock I have is I’d love to see them go from 6000 to like 62-300 for the blues. The tips are 6600 and blues are 6000 which is a big jump. But course was great, saw the cart girl several times, really good value.
Expected more
This course was close for months for "renovations" and while the course is in good shape, it is not the shape I expected after such a long closure. There are bare spots on the fairways (doesn't ANY golf course in Florida plant grass seed in bare spots ? Is Bermuda grass seed that expensive ?). As regards to renovations, there was little different about the course. Some tress were removed and some greens were changed in size, but nothing that noticeable.
Pleased to be back!
The renovations to the course are great. Certain holes greatly improved with the removal of rocks and addition of soil/turf.
Overall it's looking great!!
review
Lexington Oaks is always in great condition....nice wide cut fairways and smooth fast greens.....pace of play was slow due to "beginners" in front of us.....so slow that the two-some behind us went in front of us......without even asking! Not Good!! Will return again someday soon as it's a beautiful course and worth the drive from the Port Richey area.
Great shape after green rework
Course was in great shape after being voided for repairs since April 23
Pace of okay could have been better 7 minute spacing on tee times and many Twosomes that could be merged
Greens and boxes in great shape
Was hoping greens would gaff been faster
They have also trimmed back trees and brush in areas
Always challenging if you are not a positional golfer
Enjoyable round great weather
Glad it is back open
