Golf Club At South Hampton

It’s too bad the people that play there do not fill in their divots either on the fairways or the par three tees. There is goose grass around the greens and around and on the tees. At least the greens are puttable now except for numbers 2, 3 and 4 . There are very few rakes. And half of those are broken. The traps are not groomed up to the edge. There is goose grass everywhere. They spray it with herbicides during the day, when there are players around who get to breathe the herbicide. The tee boxes are not level. The starters had to pay for their own air conditioning unit in the starter shack. And the driving range is a cow pasture. These conditions have existed for months and months and months. It seems the owners just do not care. Shame on them!

Greens are coming back; evidence of past damage. Other areas of the course are in good condition

Decent course, but many of the greens seemed to be struggling and the bunkers were only raked around the greens. To be fair, they did have some good rain a few days before. Nice wide fairways, but every green seemed to be protected by large bunkers in the front. Nice practice area/range. Be ready for a ton of bunkers on the course—we hit it decent and still thought it was too many. Overall comment, we thought the course designer was angry or mad.

South hampton‘s greens for the longest time were some of the most consistent in the area. In the past year they were spotty and not to the same standard I have seen for the past decade. But we played today 10/14/23 and South hampton is almost back to the standard we all know. The front nine has a couple greens that have some thin spots but From hole seven on the greens are in wonderful condition. We played after 4 inches of rain and the course drained fairly well. Ryan and the pro shop is a true professional and always makes me feel appreciated as a customer. Would play again and highly recommend South hampton. It’s a fun course that doesn’t beat you up.

This is one of my favorite courses. It is well maintained and has very friendly staff.

The starter was very friendly and the bar staff is fast. The car girl came by at least 5 times in 18 holes.

Course in excellent condition. Only complaint was is that none of the water stations had any water

There is NO WAY This course deserves excellent ratings in any category. It’s too bad that Golf Now will not post the pictures I took on a visit this past weekend. So much for their credibility as well. I expected more honesty from this site.

Aside from a few spotty greens, very good condition. Glad to see SH in the shape everyone is used to playing on.

Poor at best. There have been no improvements on this golf course for over a year. See my prior reviews for more information.

Place is great. Love playing and practicing here. Never an issue.
