Golf Club At South Hampton
About
The Golf Club at South Hampton was designed to give every golfer appropriate risk-and-reward opportunities that supply both encouragement to beginners and challenges for more advanced players. The slope and contour of the course’s landscape is its trademark with strategic mounding and over 60 contoured bunkers that emphasize the terrain’s natural undulations. The course features rolling fairways and massive greens. There are also sixteen large lakes that come into play throughout. The signature hole is the tremendous par-5, 17th, which is a scenic hole that features a lake, fairway bunkers, and a breaking green. Although the course is a challenge, there are six sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Pictures of the driving range and practice putting green
Poor at best. There have been no improvements on this golf course for over a year. See my prior reviews for more information.
Place is great. Love playing and practicing here. Never an issue.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition. Nice restaurant too.
Getting better
If you had asked me to review SH a few months ago I would be saying completely different things. However, it appears SH is getting it together and the course is much better. Greens are still a little rough in some areas but are well improved and actually playable.
They’ve done a phenomenal job at the range, no more uneven sand pit. There is grass and for the most part, it’s level.
Highly recommend giving them a try again if you avoided in the past due to conditions
Golf courses don’t change that much in three months, especially in the summer heat in Florida. I was on the driving range Saturday. It is still bumpy with clumps of crabgrass goose grass, and a very thin layer of Bermuda many Divots and bear spots. Many of the sand traps are still nothing but clay, and those that do have rakes, many of them are broken. I will play there again next Thursday the 28th and let you know if I have observed any differences.
Dr.
The course condition was a little better than average
Yeah, THE AVERAGE COW PASTURE.
Good shape
The course is in good overall shape. The greens are rolling fast at the current moment.
Not true! The greens are bumpy. Many of them have large bare spots. Many of the same traps like the one in front of the seventh green are nothing but clay and if they do have a rake it’s probably broken. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 to play at that course and it’s present and condition. It’s only been a month since the aerated and there has been no rain in the area. Oh, and did I mention the driving range is a cow pasture?
COME ON, MAN! 🫣
I have been playing there twice a week for two years. But I am tired of the greens that are unputtable and you never know where the ball is going. I am tired of clay, sand traps, some of which have rakes, but half of those are broken. I am tired of goose grass around the greens and on the tees.. I am tired of herbicides being sprayed while play is going on. The two owners do not seem to care. I hear they are members at Ponte Vedra Inn in Club, and spend all of their time there drinking foo foo drinks. It’s a great layout, but it is not maintained very well at all. It has been like this for over a year. I HOPE THEY ARE LISTENING! 🤔
Hot Late Summer Round
Temps in the mid to high 90's for a 1:00 start. Course in good condition for the near drought of the past month. Needs water soon.
Pace average (4 hours +). Enjoyable round.
Last Place
Of the 4 courses on CR 210, SoutHampton would be my last choice to play because of the habitual poor conditions of the sand traps and the greens
Almost completely back in shape
SH is pretty much back. Greens were fast and in nice shape. A few little tweaks here and there and SH will be completely back.
Not true at all
Goodbye, South Hampton
I like my foursome.
I forgot to mention the washout ditches beside number 2 and 9 greens that have been allowed to overgrow with grasses without filling in the ditches. If some one mistakenly steps on that grass they are likely to break a leg. To me this is negligence and could result in a lawsuit! IS ANYBODY LISTENING???
World Golf Village Stay & Play Package
Wrong! It’s a cow pasture you must be a member…
