Golf Club At South Hampton

Greens were still a little sandy from being aerated earlier this month, but they are definitely getting there. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. South Hampton always seems to be well maintained and in about another week the greens should be great.

Played with three other singles. Everyone enjoyed the course. The tee boxes and fairways were well maintained and we were notified in advance of the aeration on the greens. The bunkers were a bit inconsistent, but staff were noticeably working several during our round. I would definitely recommend this course.

Great course from tee to green as always. The greens were aerated within the past few days so the greens were obviously sandy. As a result, they were a bit slower than usual, but every course endures this process a few times a year that is a necessary evil to improve and enhance the quality of the course moving forward. Everything else was as expected.

I realize some folks would provide a negative review based on the aerification, but that's just plain ignorant. This is a normal maintenance procedure that impacts the greens for about a week, but ultimately makes the course much better.

Southampton is a nice simple layout. Straightforward and easy to play. Fun track for all skill levels. The greens were punched which made putting tough but it’s was expected and ok

Usually you can count on it being a descent track, but WOW. I don’t know how long it’s going to take them to recover the greens after punching them on 6/5/23 but it won’t be soon. Thumb size holes but on top of that was 2-3” of sand….UNPLAYABLE.. and still had the nerve to charge 50+$$. Not only that, the fairways were dragged and punched in some places… NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT! Stay away for now!!

Really nice course. We belong at Sawgrass and our course is closed for two weeks so we decided to check out South Hampton. Really enjoyed it. Nice course, decent shape, will definitely play here again and take guests who come to visit!!!

The course played smoothly. No pushing, no waiting. Played my best round EVER - 81 (from Red tees that were VERY generous). Husband played well too.

There were at least 5 greens in bad shape one had patches of new grass put in. There are several more greens which will probably go from ok to bad as you can see lots of brown spots. The fairways n tee boxes are in good shape. I would not pay full price to play on these greens as I expect they will only get worse. . They had same issue last year with the greens.

Picked the only sunny day between a bunch of rainy ones and had a great time. Course was in good shape from the rain, save only a few bunkers that had some water in them from the several inches of rain. There's been a lot of chatter about the greens lately and I will say that they're not their usual best, but I would give them a 7 out of 10. They were recently aerated and sanded which doesn't help immediately, but necessary for the long term health and rollability. The ball still rolled pretty well, albeit a notch slower, and the greens definitely held iron shots nicely, and there was one green that had a couple of patches in the middle, but that's what has to happen sometimes if there's a stubborn turf ailment.

The pace was fast and the tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. It was a great day on the course and I was able to score well. Don't let a couple of minor maintenance items prevent you from playing a great course and enjoying the day.

Greens need some work! Old pin placentas were everywhere and in bad condition. At least one green had huge replacement patches in the middle of the green. Unplayable for that green. Fairways were nice but will not play here again until greens are better.

I was very surprised what shape the course was in after reading a bunch of bad reviews. The course was in very good shape and I was very pleased with everything tee to green.

Course well maintained. Fairways and greens in good playing condition.
