Golf Club At South Hampton
About
The Golf Club at South Hampton was designed to give every golfer appropriate risk-and-reward opportunities that supply both encouragement to beginners and challenges for more advanced players. The slope and contour of the course’s landscape is its trademark with strategic mounding and over 60 contoured bunkers that emphasize the terrain’s natural undulations. The course features rolling fairways and massive greens. There are also sixteen large lakes that come into play throughout. The signature hole is the tremendous par-5, 17th, which is a scenic hole that features a lake, fairway bunkers, and a breaking green. Although the course is a challenge, there are six sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Great Value
Tee boxes and fairways are in excellent shape. They are work on the greens which were recently punched.
Hot and humid day
Was a hot and humid day but managed to get around in just about 3 hours. I think a lot of groups succumbed to the heat and quit after 9 holes. The course - tees and fairways- were excellent. The greens not so much. Actually poor. Do know when they were aerated but with the rain and heat I would think they would show some signs of life. They don’t. Back nine and front nine #9 were basically cart path only which may have been why groups chose to stop after nine.
Ruff greens
Nice course liked the lay out but the greens were ruff
Management is absent
None of the sand traps contain the same type of sand. Some are nothing but clay with puddles in the bottom of them. Those that have rakes half of the rakes are broken. There are clumps of goose grass all over the course, especially around the tees and greens. The greens are currently unputtable due to constant sanding verti cutting. Personally, of the four courses on County Road 210, South Hampton will be my last choice to play.
Condition of the greens
Tees and fairways were excellent . Bathrooms on the course were locked. Greens were surprisingly poor. They were dry and bumpy. Looked like they had been sanded at some recent point. Quite disappointing which is too bad.
Wow, what happened to the greens?
Over the last couple of years, South Hampton has been a very good course. Fairly open off tee with nicely conditioned tee boxes and fairways. Also a pretty good layout with a balance of straight holes, dog-leg left, and dog-leg right. The problem is they have pretty much lost the greens. Sandy, bumpy, very slow. Pretty much, not puttable. I know it is aerification season, but this appears to be a far bigger problem than just "recovering from punching them." These greens are pretty much the same as Hyde Park, with no offense to Hyde Park as I know they don't have the money for better greens. South Hampton does have the money and should have a better product than this for what they charge. I say go somewhere else until they fix their greens.
Greens
Greens have some recovering to do. Still a lot of sand and slow.
Great, easy course
South Hampton was in great shape for how hot it has been here in NE FL. The course layout is great for golfers of all skill levels. I like how the red tee box is so much closer to the hole than a typical course. I golfed with my mother and wife who are newer golfers and it definitely gave them more confidence and made their day a lot less frustrating than our typical golf outing.
The bar in the clubhouse is awesome and the bartender is always super friendly!
Love this course... Still needs some TLC
The greens are creeping back into shape, but still a tribute area.
The staff and design are great. Still my favorite local course.
It's gotten a bit pricey lately on the "keeping up with the Jones'" on the area but some of those other courses are on much better shape overall. Can't get those premium prices for average conditions...
Poor Management
I have played there many times. Course is nice but Rob the manager is incompetent. They overbook and don’t have rangers to keep up pace of play. Spent 20 min waiting to tee off on 13th tee so decided to end our round. Went in and asked for credit and Rob refused and then actually said he wanted to fight me when I told him he sucked at his job. I had another friend play there a few months ago and had a similar bad experience. Don’t play until Rob and Golf shop staff are replaced
Rough Time Of Year
It’s really hard on greens this time of year here in Florida. I must say the course is a good course. The price is for sure right for this time of year. I would play here again anytime, I would really like to play in late October and November.
Not Uo to S Hampton Standard
I played last Friday. Before I booked the tee time I personally called the club house to ask them about the condition of the greens. This was a concern to me because of the bad reviews I had read. I expressed what I had read and called to see what they had to say. THEY LI3D. Told me the greens were in good shape. All the greens were horrible.
World Golf Village Stay & Play Package
I can tell you the golf course is a cow pasture. The employees work very hard and they’re all very nice. But half of the sand traps are clay. There are very few rakes. And half of those are broken. The traps are not groomed up to the edge. The greens are currently unputtable There is goose grass everywhere. They spray it with herbicides during the day, when there are players around who get to breathe the herbicide. The tee boxes are not level. The starters had to pay for their own air conditioning unit in the starter shack. And the driving range is a cow pasture. These conditions have existed for months and months and months. It seems the owners just do not care. Shame on them!
