Golf Club At South Hampton
About
The Golf Club at South Hampton was designed to give every golfer appropriate risk-and-reward opportunities that supply both encouragement to beginners and challenges for more advanced players. The slope and contour of the course’s landscape is its trademark with strategic mounding and over 60 contoured bunkers that emphasize the terrain’s natural undulations. The course features rolling fairways and massive greens. There are also sixteen large lakes that come into play throughout. The signature hole is the tremendous par-5, 17th, which is a scenic hole that features a lake, fairway bunkers, and a breaking green. Although the course is a challenge, there are six sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Golfer Reviews
Overly aggressive starter
Overly aggressive starter, treats people like they are his "subjects," and likes to bark orders at people. Also get the feeling he is doing people a favor by allowing you to play there. More so if you are not a member and he does not know you. I have experienced this before from one elderly gentleman in particular there. Perhaps in his former life he did not manage people or have that authority, now is his chance to order people around. Kinda like overzealous TSA agents given authority they can't handle. no water on course that I could find. Otherwise good course, nice greens.
Great course
A great day on a great course, does not get better than that. Greens in awesome shape, tee boxes were well kept. This is a pretty friendly course for all levels of play. I will definitely return.
Course in great shape
I will say these reviews scared me to play for awhile because everyone said that the greens were awful. The greens were in great shape. I think there was only 1 green that was good but not in amazing shape. I do not know why people are writing awful reviews about this course. Those people need to get their eyes checked. I will recommend this course to anyone.
S. Hampton
Great course overall. Beautiful fairways well maintained. Only gripe is we were playing in the dead of summer and there was no water coolers on the course. This would’ve been fine if the cart girls had ample water but alas they didn’t. Aside from the heat exhaustion I suffered the course was well maintained and challenging
Great course for the monry
I was quite pleased with the condition of the course overall. It had been a while since I played here and I was not disappointed. Good test of golf and hope to see an upcoming Golfweek tournament there in the future. Keep it up.!!!
Pace of play
One of the best places in the area for the price but everybody seems to know that now because it’s way over crowded. It took me and my buddy 3 hours to play the front nine on a weekday. The rangers were very friendly and drove by a few times to explain the hold up was due to a few groups of elderly people but that didn’t change the fact that it was incredibly slow. We were unable to play the back nine due to the pace. They offered to give us a coupon for nine holes which was very kind. The issue is the staff may be too kind and don’t enforce the pace. The conditions is incredible for the amount of play it has been seeing this summer. The only other issue I have is there is no water on the course. Overall an incredible course.
Rough Shape
One of the reason I like playing here is the practice area. Unfortunately it is in really rough shape. No grass at all on driving range Sand bunker unplayable . Cart garage overwhelmed.
The course was in OK shape showing wear from summer heat.
Selective Covid-19 Policy - No water available.
Let's see. Pro Shop employees don't wear masks, they MAKE you ride two people per cart, there are rakes in the bunkers, and there are no pool noodles in the cups. But, when you ask them if they make fresh water available on the course, they tell you no, because of Covid. In the summer heat and humidity, someone is going to get heat stroke due to dehydration. Sounds like the start of a Morgan & Morgan commercial.
