RedTail Golf Club

Jim in the pro shop advised me about the conditions I would find on the course. About half the greens were suffering but the other half were fine. The Greenskeepers are working on it and it will be fine in a few weeks. All the guys at Redtail were super friendly. Jim especially. The Veteran working in the cart barn was super nice and interested in how well I played. I’ll be back soon.

need better markings for moving from hole to hole.we took couple wrong turns as did another golfer asking for directions.love course however greens were too slow.

Starting with the negative, yes, some of greens are pretty much unplayable; however, most are coming around nicely. But what I must praise about RedTail is the condition of the fairways and tee boxes. They are maybe the best I've played in Central Florida Lots of grass on these; tee boxes to a "T" are level and grassed nicely.

My main point with these comments is, if you can get a decent price, do NOT be afraid to play RedTail. It's an outstanding layout, and you'll be glad you played it.

Played course today and overall it was a disappointing experience. Greens are in really poor shape due to a fungus however what was left was so long and slow that it easily cost us ten strokes. There is a LOT of casual water that is not shown on the scorecard in the fairways. The links design where you never see the clubhouse again until the 18th hole is not golfer friendly. The bar is a hike from the parking lot and there was no one there and choices and prices were absurd. Judging by how few golfers were on the course we were all guessing how long it would be until they shut the course down and build homes on that real estate. Would not recommend and will never go back.

This course put up a great challenge with the water and marsh land. The greens have a fungus at this time but we still had a blast.

I have played this course before and really enjoyed it. As all the other reviews have stated, the greens are in terrible shape and I would wait until these come back before trying to play this course. Staff was very friendly and let us know the conditions before we began play.

I have played this course in the past and it has been a nice track. However this time was different. I hate writing bad reviews but this needs to be put out there. The course was in rough shape. After we paid for our round at the pro shop the guy told us- "um the reason the rate is so low "$35" is because we got a fungus on our greens. We had already paid so just decided to go out. All of the greens except maybe two were eat up and very furry. There are other local courses in the area for less money for when our tee time. Eagle Dunes and Black Bear I think was $25. I wouldn't even paid that for Red Tail. Just was not even enjoyable

First time playing here, lovely environment. Quite a few holes are speckled with bumpy hills with almost no fairways. I scored well despite this being my first time but I also appreciate being hydrated and having good course amenities, of which there were none. The greens were being worked on but we were forewarned. But when you are told “no coolers” and don’t have a cart person or a clubhouse situated at the 10th hole, you have to be kidding! The saving grace was fast pace of play and a great meal at the restaurant after the round!

I have played this course since it opened. Sadly it is in terrible condition. Pour course management from top to bottom. Fire them all and start fresh. But for people to go on a place bogus reviews and be allowed to do so is irresponsible of golf now and wrong.

Discounted green fees due to fungus issues which clobbered bermuda greens--bare patches abound with significant impacts on putting. Greens other wise exceptionally slow even for Bermuda.. Fairways were narrow and swampy--they did not drain well with casual Florida thunderstorms. Cross-fairway hazards exist that are not apparent to an experienced golfer and lwould be mitigated by a course overview bookletor pamphlet but none was provided Staff was friendly and efficient but understaffed (sole attendee). Sprinklers were still on when we arrived at the range/practice area--had to return to pro-shop to request they be turned off. Sole attendant--although overwhelmed by a tournament check-in--had them off by the few minutes it took us to get back out there--Well done! Cart girl was present and friendly.

Fairways are okay but the greens are the worst I’ve ever personally played on.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. But there are no amenities at the ninth other than an ice machine, and the condition of the course is quite bad. The greens are not I bad shape, they are DAMAGED and some will likely need to be resurfaced. I’d pay $15 or so for a round but that’s about it. With Black Bear and Eagles Dunes 5 mins away and in such great shape, I’d pass on Red Tail.

I love the course in all aspects but the current conditions are way below expectations due to the condition of the greens.
