Slightly disappointed
The course needs some work with a bad case of crab grass. There is only 1 beverage cart for 2 courses and only 2 water stations located at the restrooms. Only one was working on a 95 degree day. Place of play was dreadfully slow, over 5hours to play. We called pro shop about pace on the 5th hole, on the 11 th hole we saw the Marshall who said there was a group ahead that was 4 holes behind. How does that happen?
Shaggy. Overgrown. Rough like fairways.
Unless this golf course improves the playing conditions I will never return. Overgrown grass even in tee boxes. The rough is 2 feet tall in some areas. I play nearby municipal courses that are in much better conditions where the green fees are 60% lower. The adjoining Hills course is no better, I played it the week before.
Shaggy fairways, 1st cuy equal to other course's rough.
The course is not well manicured. Especially the front nine. Fairways are weed choked between many are spots. The first cut off fairway is equivalent to other courses tall and weedy rough. Some tee boxes turf also looks like mowed weedy rough.
The greens are acceptable. Rolling 9 on the Stimp during my April 2025 visit.
Golf carts are in good condition.
Employees are nice, happy and helpful.
I'm a local. I won't play here again until the course conditions have greatly improved.
Weeds everywhere
The course is wide open and greens run pretty good. Off the fairway is weeds everywhere
Goodg
Played here over pre-Covid and I recall the course being in better shape. Dry spots throughout the course but in a “spotty” fashion. I thought greens were in excellent shape. Value was outstanding considering it was the weekend.
Should have walking rates
Showed up to play and learnt it was Cart Path Only, so decided to walk. But there is no break in price because of walking. Its probably because its located in a retirement community and no one expects to walk this course. Its not an easy walk with a few fairly long green-to-tee walks. At the end of the round, I had put in about 18k steps (8 miles approx). This is the harder of the 2 courses - with strategic tee-shots required for most holes. Driver isnt always the option because of strategic bunkers, doglegs, hazards getting in the way. Greens are fair. Make sure you play a yardage that you are comfortable with. Winds can pick up and make the round even more challenging.
Not really worth the price
I used to play this course all the time (3-4 times/month) years ago, but stopped when they began raising prices without improving the overall experience. Decided to give it another chance. Played a few days after heavy rains, so it was cart path only. Not unexpected. However, the course is not in very good shape, ignoring the muddiness, the fairways have bare spots and patchy coverage. Seems like there's crabgrass and other "clumpy" grass instead of normal "smooth" grass, if that makes sense. Greens were decent, not fast, but smooth enough.
They had a tournament that ran late, so we were delayed 20 minutes to tee off. That, along with overall slow play, meant we finished 18 in near darkness, hitting the ball and hoping to find it in the general direction. Never saw a marshall to help with the pace. Also no drink cart, especially problematic because this course doesn't loop around to the clubhouse after 9 holes. Disappointing overall experience.
