About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Never Again
Online the tee times were 10 minutes apart, so our group bought 2 tee times to give us more than enough time to be out of the way. When we arrived they were sending groups of 4 every 5 minutes. They forced us to split our group in half, added a random, then continued to follow us around for the first 4 holes telling us we were playing too slow when WE were waiting on the group in front of us. Grounds keeping doesn’t know how to use weed killer. The only thing positive about this course is the nice cart lady. Rest of the course is a complete bust, waste of time and money.
Course is in great shape
Overall the tees, fairways, and greens are all in great shape. With the exemption of a few greens that have sections under construction, the course is in great shape. Looking forward to the practice green reopening as I miss getting some time to practice. The wind coming out of the east-northeast makes it a challenge especially on the back nine. Keep up the great work.
Green have terrible spots on them
Although there are signs of recovery, there is a great deal,of damage on most of the greens. The holes are cut it good areas and they puttmok, but many times puts are through sanded spots.
Beat the storm and thunder down the stretch
Always a good time.. it was hot… greens and fairways very good…. windy on back nine last couple of holes…a good test of golf. Paired up with a retired Navy officer and 2 brother in laws… nice day of golf..
Happy to see it back
The condition of the course is a complete 180 from a few months ago. Great job to the crew! Greens are a tad slow, but roll true. There are some spots on the edges that are under repair, but the course is otherwise great.
Mayport Windy Harbor
Always a challenge with coastal winds. Another good day playing Windy Harbor. The wind was different yesterday and a severe storm with rain passed through on the back nine which added to the fun. Wind gusts 45-50 mph for 2 holes with rain. Challenging.. I’m a single golfer so I look forward to playing here whether by myself or being able to join another group. You meet interesting people and more often than not someone you get paired with is an outstanding or better than average golfer which adds to the challenge and enjoyment. 4 sets of tees so a lot of options here. The staff - civilians or retired navy for the most part are considerate and professional. Always a nice day.. rain, sun and wind
