About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Close to perfect
Now they had horrible weather day before, so cart path only, but most of the greens were like carpet , that's why I only gave 4 stars , otherwise it would have gotten 5, fairways were also really good
Good round of golf, but…
The course is fair shape, the greens need some attention. The rounds was good, but the carts move at 3mph, yup three miles per hour. Our twosome had the walking twosome waiting because the cart could not move up hill and maximum speed was 3mph and we play fairly fast. We took every minute of 4.5 hours to play and I shot and 87. Carts, Carts, Carts!!
Slept on course
This is the most slept on course in the Jacksonville area. The greens are getting back into shape from a battle with some fungus that hit the area. Best value around.

Fun Course
Played Windy about six times now it has always been in good shape. My only complaint is this is the second time that my friend and I have had a cart that has barely made it to the clubhouse. Come on Windy Harbor get some new carts seeing how you have a big budget and you charge for riders that are not playing.
Golfnow haters
Arrived early to the golf course and warmed up and no one was teeing off and it was about 30 minutes before our tee time. So we decided to check in and go ahead and play since no one was on the tee and no one had been on the tee box for about 20 minutes And we were told that YOU PEOPLE with Golfnow are not allowed to go off early as per Barbara Harris, who apparently cannot stand people who book through GolfNow this has been going on for several years and I have been referred to several times as YOU PEOPLE. this person Barbara has no business working at a job where you have to interact with people. She is the very definition of rude.
Great Value - Fun Layout
Windy Harbor is a hidden jewel located on MAS Mayport. Staff is very friendly and pace of play was great! Highly recommend!
Greens are not lost. Time to learn something.
When people give bad reviews, its usually because you either stink at golf, or you don’t understand the maintenance side of this industry. New greens will inevitably have problems. Those who don’t understand this should just stay home or allow the time needed to fully establish and work through the problems. A bad review does nothing but cause golf courses to lose business and revenue. If this makes you feel good, as I said, just stay home.
