About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Fairways recovering
Drought conditions in Jacksonville have left some fairways a little spotty. But this course is a lot better than most of Jacksonville golf courses. Greens were slower than usual but consistent throughout the whole round.
Stan
Golf carts was terrible. I had to change cars on both front nine and back nine.

Windy Windy Harbor
As expected the wind was up while playing, but kept the round very comfortable as temps were in the upper 80s. Overall the course is in good shape. Greens probably need a few cycles to grow in to achieve softness and consistency. (Complete replacement last spring/summer) Fairways are great and the course set up is challenging. I still love to play here and the staff make it even more welcoming.
Staff is great
Every time I play, Wendy harbor the staff from the graf shop to the restaurant to the starter. Always make me feel welcome.
enjoyed round
the greens must have been done not to long ago, some were a little thin on grass, but overall they were smooth enough to enjoy the day. I had a good day , would play this course again.
