About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Golfer Reviews
What we don’t know
Newly installed greens if anyone is interested can take 2-3 years to be fully established. Many factors depict the length of time it takes for full grow in. Cold, wet, windy, cloudy weather do the most harm. If you’ve never worked in this industry, you’ll never understand. It’s just easier to complain.
Awful conditions
I am not sure what happened when they redid the greens but the greens are in terrible condition. Dead spots all over, burnt spots, edges are dirt spots. Not worth the money
Giant step backwards.
The green renovation project was a disaster. Once beautiful and true greens were removed and replaced with a different strain. The result is extremely disappointing. The ball doesn't roll on these greens. It bounces like a basketball and bobs and weaves like a prize fight. The friendly hardworking staff seems determined to right the ship on this Navy base. In the meantime, this ship has sunk.
Good challenging golf course with excellent staff!

Great course to play, open but challenging always busy but pace of play usually good.. my last day to Play was March 28 th . Can’t play again until June. MWR card expired. Went to renew early March and earliest appointment I could get was June. ( BUMMER)
Continues to be good course
The condition of the course continues to improve. Greens are fast and firm, fairways are starting to green up and grow in. Course is a good deal for the price. Staff is very pleasant compared to others.
Windy Harbor
Basic golf etiquette should be enforced between golfers when there are slow foursomes holding up faster twosomes on every hole.
Good challenging golf course with excellent staff!!!

Good golf course with excellent staff! Good condition and fun to play.
Fairways recovering
Drought conditions in Jacksonville have left some fairways a little spotty. But this course is a lot better than most of Jacksonville golf courses. Greens were slower than usual but consistent throughout the whole round.

Golf carts was terrible. I had to change cars on both front nine and back nine.
