Windy Harbor Golf Club
About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Excellent shape
Course overall is in great shape. Greens roll true and Aden not too fast or slow. My only beef is the riding is now required in the mornings when the tee time rate was for walking. This must be a financial decision which I get but recommend updating your tee time information.
Nice conditions
Greens are coming back, thank you!!! I was impressed how well the greens were receptive compared to my last few visits. The aeration has done the job.
Nice for walking
Course was in good condition. Greens were slow and bumpy other than that it was a nice windy day at Windy Harbor.
Good, but could be even better
First time playing Windy Harbor. FYI you need clearance pass to go. Staff was very nice. Course layout was pretty good. It the greens were not good. Fix those and it would be wonderful.
Great course to walk!
The course just threw sand down on all of the greens. The staff was friendly and informed me of this. Great layout and an absolute great course to walk.
greens could have been better
the greens were covered with sand. so putting was difficult.. overall course was fun
God Bless America & Windy Harbor
Great course. May appear to be straight forward but many good challenges out there. The two 9s play completely different especially when there’s a strong breeze from the east (frequently with the ocean being right there!).
Highly recommend.
Rangers
Next time I play if there’s a back up like the last two times I’m going to call for a Ranger. They probably actually don’t know but we got unlucky and got behind a threesome that got four holes behind. And we’re telling stories on the Teebox with no one in front of them it was ridiculous.I’m sure if the golf course knew they would do something about it
Slow play
Course is good but the pace of play is slow. Last two times I played there they let a group get a 4 hole gap between them and the group in front of them. Next time I will call the clubhouse because they may not even know. And some people need to know to pick up the pace
Fabulous
Highly recommend the course. A real treat especially for civilians. The layout is fun and the 2nd nine has some teeth especially on a windy day (which is frequently, hints the name Windy Harbor). A hidden gem on the First Coast. Thank you for the MWR program and grateful for our militaries service for us all. God Bless America.
Fun course some really tough par 4s
The course was pretty wet and some bad spots in fairways! Very long par 4s on the back side for a 71 year old. 400 plus yards.
Always in good shape
I have played the course many times, the greens are very quick, fairways are in good shape considering that it is winter time. I enjoy going out there every time and walking the course. It was nice to see the ranger tell the group to speed it up a little since they were slowing people’ down. Keep up the good work.
Good day on the course
Greens were in great shape. Course was in normal winter condition
