About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Rangers
Next time I play if there’s a back up like the last two times I’m going to call for a Ranger. They probably actually don’t know but we got unlucky and got behind a threesome that got four holes behind. And we’re telling stories on the Teebox with no one in front of them it was ridiculous.I’m sure if the golf course knew they would do something about it
Slow play
Course is good but the pace of play is slow. Last two times I played there they let a group get a 4 hole gap between them and the group in front of them. Next time I will call the clubhouse because they may not even know. And some people need to know to pick up the pace
Fabulous
Highly recommend the course. A real treat especially for civilians. The layout is fun and the 2nd nine has some teeth especially on a windy day (which is frequently, hints the name Windy Harbor). A hidden gem on the First Coast. Thank you for the MWR program and grateful for our militaries service for us all. God Bless America.
Always in good shape
I have played the course many times, the greens are very quick, fairways are in good shape considering that it is winter time. I enjoy going out there every time and walking the course. It was nice to see the ranger tell the group to speed it up a little since they were slowing people’ down. Keep up the good work.
Nice course, well managed, excellent value
Course has been continually improved over recent years
Course is always in great condition. Really like the improvements made to several water hazards with the removal of vegetation and new bulk heads. Staff is as friendly as anywhere in town.
No Cart Included now??
Hi, can someone tell me why they have made online Golfnow users who book a hot deal unavailable to use a cart? I have been golfing here for years and it always included a cart. They stopped allowing cars a few mont ago like most every place did but all those restrictions have been lifted and they are using carts now as normal but have disallowed online golf now guests the service of using a cart. Not to mention, every time I golf there are tons of carts not being used. The course isn’t that busy ever since it’s on he navy base but it’s in great sharp and a fun course.
