About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Golfer Reviews
Great course Horrible carts!
The course is in great shape, greens are firm, but not too fast. The problem is the golf carts and their inability to take you through 18 holes. If you don’t like push carts imagine pushing a golf cart? Had to interrupt three holes on the back nine to exchange two carts. This was the third time we had the same excuse, “expect to get new cards somewhere around next year.” The question is what’s going to happen with those of us who are playing the course now?
Sunday afternoon round with Dave
We flew around the course, which was in great shape (and we fixed ball marks, divots, etc. to try to keep it that way).
Course is in great shape right now!
One of the best ran government ran golf courses. You do need a MWR card to play on your he naval base. You can apply for one. Takes a few weeks. Free. And so worth it. Most expensive tee time I’ve ever seen is $28. Played it today for $10 (18 with a cart!) Right now the greens are pure and rolling smooth. Fairways and tee boxes are in excellent shape! Only thing it lacks is good bunkers. They have sand but are filled with seashells. (As you can tell it’s probably pulled from the naval harbor.) Overall this is a great little course. In great shape. And almost always a great deal.
VERY Windy Harbor
Course is in good shape with wide open fairways, greens could use some work and it is VERY WINDY but you can smell the beach which is nice!
Good course
I continue to enjoy playing Windy Harbor. Lots of wind coming out of any direction enjoy this course at the naval station.
Played here several times - but greens need recovery time
Have played here several times when the greens were in great shape! Looks as though they punched, sanded, and then cut them a little too short. Several greens were VERY thin. I think in a few weeks time they will be back up to good shape, but for now, little bumpy, fast because of thin, dirt-type areas with very little grass on many of them. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. Fun layout, easy course ... not hugely long.
Fun, challenging course
Lots of different challenges and the wind is the big X factor in this course.
Same
Great course
Great service

Only discouraging thing about today was finding out they are punching their beautiful greens next week.Sad.
