Trump National Doral Miami - Golden Palm Course
About
The Golden Palm Course (formerly known as Gold Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at the Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a variety of golfing options to accommodate players of any skill level. The Golden Palm Course has a traditional Floridian layout that features subtly contoured greens and narrow fairways that are lined with trees. There is also strategic bunkering throughout as well as water hazards that come into play on 16 of the 18 holes. The golf course has a notable finishing hole that has an island green. In addition to the five courses, Trump National Doral Miami is also home to a noted golf school.

Blue Monster 1st tee Photo submitted by u000008216192 on 01/15/2017
WOW FACTOR
This Gold course is my favorite over the Red Tiger and Silver Fox as it just had more scenic holes and great par 3 holes, mainly short irons. A real treat to play.
Immaculate conditions. Staff could use some attention
We played the gold. Beautiful and immaculate condition. We told no less than three staff it was our first time. No one told us there was no food nor drinks available on the entire 18 holes. Didn’t come back to the club house at the turn. The Bev cart whizzed by after we tee’d off on 18! There was one bathroom with water and ice.but no cups ! The club house is over the top and beautiful but expected more from the staff on preparedness on course food and drink. Also we they asked if we wanted our clubs cleaned and brought up top for our shuttle. We agreed and it took entirely too much time for that to happen. Our hotel shuttle driver had to leave and return twice.
Golden Palm
Top notch course. It wasn’t busy when I played; the group behind me was 4 holes behind.
The course is very challenging with all the water and bunkers. Felt like a video game with all the water lined dogleg holes.
The best of the best!
The best of the best!
I live in Florida and have played a lot of the Florida courses but I will tell you that playing the Golden Palm and the Silver Fox over these last two days has been pure bliss!
Golf now provided wonderful pricing and truly the two courses could not have been in more perfect shape!
Perfect teeboxes, perfect fairways, perfect greens, and playing these courses makes you feel like you are playing at the masters they are so beautifully and well manicured!
The golden palm has the hardest greens, the silver fox is narrow and challenging because of that, the red tiger has small greens that are elevated, and the blue monster is long and wide open!
Doral was amazing
This course was incredible, greens fast, fairways perfectly groom, real test for your game. Loved it, we play again
Best of the group… but…
Gold is my favorite track at Doral. However a few of the BS extras like valet parking charge of more than $20 plus tip is stupid. Self parking is super far away and still costs $15.
Driving range uses the mats on most days which is BS.
Beer cart girl was very friendly and helpful.
I shot 82, lost 4 balls.
Greens run smooth and true.
Golden Palm
I’m a four handicap and found the Golden Palm course a challenge but a fair one. It was windy so that made it much more difficult. Also we played from the Gold tees that are around 6300 but there was barely a difference in comparison to the Black that are listed at 7000. It would seem one was off but maybe it was the wind that just made the course feel longer.
Overall the experience was great. Had a great pre game brunch and after game drink. The amenities are top notch. The value for money was helped by the overall amenity experience.
Par threes were mostly low iron shots which were a challenge and there is a real premium on hitting it straight off the tee as there is a lot of water up the fairways to deal with.
All in all I would return. Mostly to play it again with less wind.
The Gold course offers green complexes that are more difficult than its’ fabled sister course, the Blue Monster.
There are some really good, fun holes, like Nos. 8, 10, and 18. However, this is typical Florida resort style golf. One dogleg with water down one side numbs you to the stellar holes.
I don’t think the value is there to warrant the price tag. But, once on the property they’ve got you. You can either pay twice as much for another round on the Blue, or feel like you are saving money by playing the Gold or Red.
