Callippe Preserve Golf Course

Tough course with lots of wildlife restricted areas. Course is well maintained greens were average with lots of unrepaired ball marks.

Layout is fantastic with some beautiful views. It was my first time playing here in 9 months and I have to say, I was disappointed by the condition of the greens and bunkers. I'd be hard-pressed to pay their regular $63 rate to play fairly bumpy greens and crusty or soggy bunkers. I'll play here in the future because the layout is tremendous

We had a 6:10 AM tee time and pretty much had the course to ourselves going out that early. Everything about this course was outstanding!! The greens and fairways were perfect. It had just the right mix of challenging and forgiving. The only knock I can think of is on a couple tee boxes we had a herd time finding flat ground but for the most part the tee boxes were very good.

We will definitely play here again and at about the same time of day.. Absolutely worth the early morning drive from the city.. about 45 minutes from SanFran with no traffic!!

I played on a Friday afternoon and was joined by a couple. The pace was ok. The greens were challenging as always with undulations and false fronts. It's a short course at 6k yards but the wind and elevated greens can make it longer. The course gets harder as you play so try and make pars or better early in the round because the back nine you are sure to give some back. Plenty of challenges for the mid to low handicapper, beginners beware.

I am new enough to enjoy all challenges. I started golf about a year ago and I have to say to only way to better is to challenge oneself.

Was told that the Callippe was a great course, but wait times could be a real issue on weekends, so play during the week. I played on a Thursday as a single. Standard driving range that allowed hitting off of grass. A bit of disorganization with the starter (teed off 10 minutes early). Was paired up with two others at a similar skill level (~10 handicap). Course was well maintained with a few interesting holes. Not overly challenging, but a great round. Best of all, even with a 3-some of good players, we barely waited all day. Enjoyed the round, will play here again and would recommend to a friend.

Played here for the first time and was really impressed. The layout is interesting and offers some risk/reward, including some drive-able par 4s if the conditions were right. The course was in excellent condition from tee to green and was a great value @ $65 per person. I'd rank it up there with Wente as far as views and condition but a better value (and Wente is a good value too!)

Very nice pleasant course. Some bunkers were hard as rock. Need grooming.

They LET a SIX-some play!!! Believe me, as I had many opportunities to count them, there was a six-some playing in front of me. I called the Pro Shop & they DID NOTHING!!! The young man was very friendly & 'sorrrrrry', but did nothing at all...get this: he said he "would talk to them when they made the turn after 9."

I couldn't stand the agony after my front nine, so I played the front again. Those 6 are probably on #14 by now...

Love Callippe. The course is in great shape. There is a great variety of holes and tee boxes to play from. I played with three other singles and we played in 4 hours. Tee off was at 8:26am. I love that there really aren't any homes on the course (except for hole #3). Friendly staff. Walk-able course (even though I rode this round). Total gem. Can't wait to get back and play another round soon.

I know the course in under maintenance, we started on the back 9 first, and I was pleased to see workers around the course...BUT no excuse for the poor conditions of the bunkers...

at least have the grounds crew rake them first thing in the morning...

bunkers looked like theyd been played in for about 2 weeks without anybody raking them.

spoiled my day when i ended up in a couple of bunkers and found them to be wet sand but very lumpy and uneven and footprints from at least a couple of days ago...

don't mind the wet sand, just slap an inch behind the ball no problem, but lumpy undulating wet sand with footprints!!

REST of the course was fantastic.

Great experience as always. The staff is the best around. Greens are very good but will continue to get better as recent aeration heals completely.

The course in GREAT shape. Will join the membership program to play it more often.

I’m a single digit handicapper, played from the blue tees. Challenging but very playable. Shot 77. Helped to play with someone with local knowledge. Would definitely play it again.

Greens rolled true and fairways were near perfect.

The twilight rate for the type of course you get to play can’t be beat.
