About
The Silver Fox Course (formerly known as Jim McLean Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a good game for players of any skill level. Unlike the Gold Course at the resort, the Silver Fox Course does not follow a traditional Floridian layout. There are elevated tee boxes and greens and narrow, rolling fairways. The golf course features an interesting variety of holes, short and long. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes of the 18 holes and there are also bunkers situated throughout. The course's signature hole is the 14th, which has an island green.

Don’t bother
The Silver Fox is a subdivision lined trick track. I have no idea why this off the main campus course is part of Doral. The fairways are in good shape, greens run fast and that’s where it ends. Off fairway grass is thin in many areas. It was dry as a bone yet we still had cart path only. It’s not as tough as advertised and should go for about 80 bucks in high season. So disappointing visually. 2 of our three shot in the 70s - and we really didn’t hit it that well. Pass on this albatross.
Trump courses among best
Played all 3 non-Blue Monster courses. All were excellent and the top 3 courses I have played on 3 week FlA swing this year.
Starting 2020 with a bang!!!
What a way to start the first day of a new decade by playing Trump National Dural January 1st, 2020!!! Trump pays attention to every detail on his property from the course, greens, the grounds, the hotels and amenities, down to the the leather on his golf carts. Class A all the way!!!
Good Course. Poor service
Great course condition! Beautiful course. Sliver Fox is far away from clubhouse. Compare to other $150+ course, this course has a poor service. For example, no one take care of your golf bag when you arrive and no one help you clean your golf club when you done.
Great Course, great pace.
The Silver Fox is a very challenging course, great ambiance and condition. Greens roll very true. Pace was under three hours for two players. This could be as challenging as the Blue Monster. Silver was originally not connected to the Doral property and used to drive off the property about two miles. Now you check in with same starter as the other three courses and drive the golf cart over a bridge to the first tee. Highly recommend. Have played it several times in the past year.
Silver Fox Course
It is a challenging layout. Water comes into play. If playing from Balck or Gold tees, got to hit i it long and straight. I had an excellent warm up at the well designed range. The carts have GPS and guide you back to the right path while also providing yardages bunkers, water and pin. Very good pace of play. One of the best rounds of golf that I’ve enjoyed thoroughly. I also got a great deal from GOLFPASS/ Golfnow
Silver Fox
We played this course for the first time and everything was fantastic. It has reputation for being difficult but we found it very fair and challenging. Maybe the nicest Florida courses we have played.
Awesome Course
I loved playing this course. Even though it’s not the blue monster I had a great time. Greens were excellent and the course was in perfect condition. High handicappers better make sure to bring a ton of balls
