The Links at Summerly

I play here often for the fun, challenging layout. This links course is unlike any other course in southern California. Truly gives you a unique experience. Like all links courses, conditions vary. It's looking pretty good right now. A few of the fairways are a little rough. The new carts are very nice.

I hadn’t played this course in 15 years. Came back to it today and I almost cried. Can’t believe I made an hour drive to see this. The course is basically abandoned. You’re hitting off gravel the entire day. I kept an optimistic outlook thinking it would get better but it got worse. Every green was patchy . I mean this in the most respectful way but please close this course until it can be made playable again.

This links style course has unfortunately really tanked since I last played it a year or two ago. Fairways were always iffy. But now the greens are basically gone to sod. It is worst than Cherry Hills on overall condition. And that takes a lot. It really should be closed until it can be brought back to playable

I play here regularly. Fairways have improved drastically in the last month. Front 9 greens are in pretty good shape. Green surrounds are a 10/10. I play with a group of guys that all shoot in the 70's. If the ball is on a dirt patch we bump it to the nearest grass. The track layout here is truly amazing giving you a true links experience and very reasonable rates. Happy to have this course close to home.

They take absolutely no pride in this golf course. Fairways and greens both look the same, Very patchy. You were pretty much hitting off gravel no matter where you laid on the fairway. No goof lays on the greens, rocks, missing grass just not very good for competitive play. Even as a beginner this isn't a great course to learn on.

Really like the course and all the people working there have been friendly and courteous. However, the course has been in some type of transition for a while now doesn't show much in the way of improvement and recently had someone drive over several of the greens, making putting difficult at best. Even the best greens aren't even average. I will still come out and play once a month or so just to see if hopefully, they can get conditions up to at least average. The setting and layout of the course is good and there is lots of wildlife especially waterbirds etc that you can enjoy during your round.

It was on a Sunday morning, and there were only a few players on course. The greens were almost dying. However we had a fun with the playing pace and checked how we can hit the ball, etc. I think you can play here as little money to spend and don’t have to worry about putting and your scores. Just enjoy the day with a beautiful weather and hit a ball like us did yesterday. Hope I can comeback here next year if they can survive.

The course was so bad we decided not to play it. I have played this course 50 times or more over the years. It has had its ups and downs but I would be surprised if it is not permanently closed in the next couple months. Very disappointed that golfnow would even represent or sell tee times to this facility. To top it all off, I am having a hard time even getting my money back from the booking. I really hope they will step up and refund me, seeing as how we did not even play. If not, I will definitely not be using this booking service again.

I’m a big fan of the layout of this links style course. Unfortunately it’s in such bad shape that I don’t see how they can recover the greens, fairways, or tee boxes. The only thing in decent shape is the rough.

Perfect weather this morning. I play here regularly since the value is unbeatable. Course conditions are improving but still leave some to be desired. Layout is premiere, very challenging. Tee boxes are in excellent condition. Fairways are hit or miss, some look great and some have dirt patches. We bump our ball to the nearest grass if lie is on dirt. The back 9 greens have some dead areas but overall they still roll good and pretty true. There's a practice chipping green and practice putting green available to warm up on. This is a great course to play if you want to swing the sticks and save some bucks.

Don’t waste your time, the review score is skewed robot. Drive 45 min as this course was in good shape pre Covid. I was so upset that I invested that much time to be disappointed with greens in the worst shape imaginable.

Summerly is unplayable. In the past, the fairways have been an issue, but they managed to keep the greens in decent shape. Sadly, they have lost the greens. Most are dead, or dying. Some kind of fungus appears to have killed them.

General maintainance also has apparently ceased. Trashcans had not been emptied in days. And general services are all but at an end. Even their phone numbe and website are down and they have no idea when either will be restored.

I first played this course when it opened in the late 90s. The layout was special. But the current owners have obviously lost all interest in the course and are hoping someone comes along and takes it off their hands. But the course is almost a complete rebuild. Unless you are a local or desperate, sadly don't waste your time here. I had my index here and played five or six times a year driving a long distance to get here. I won't be back.

Excellent layout that gives you a true links experience. Links conditions makes it challenging. Very enjoyable and green fees are a bargain. Happy to see conditions are improving
