The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

Some Improvements
There has been some improvement but there still is a long way to go with this course the new fairways look good the greens are average Patchy in places fungus in spots but overall not bad they hold well some of the fairways are in bad condition and as always the bunkers are terrible
Trash
Management/pro shop suck . Course is trash do not waste your time and money.
GPS surcharge
The starter charges you additional $1.50 for it’s prehistoric looking GPS on golf cart. You have no choice but to pay this ridiculous petty add-on up charge when you check in! This was not mentioned upon booking with GolfNow. Pala Mesa golf course also charges $5 for GolfNow (only) customers to turn on the GPS system! These two golf courses are turning into the airline industry where they nickel and dime you any which way they can. On top of this, the course conditions at the Links is horrendous...crab grass growing everywhere...Frankenstein patch work repair for fairways. Definitely do not recommend this course even if it’s cheap.
Improving
Getting better and so much potential. Still, really a bummer when you hit a great shot and end up on pebbles seemingly in the fairway.
Will be back though with continued improvements and efforts by management.
Good value but still need work and time.
Green were fine. Layout is nice. Fairways need more work and time to respond to the work now being done. Great rate though Golfnow.com. Will play again.
Nice improvement
Played a quick round today. Much better condition than the last time I play a year or so ago. Nice to see investment into a local course. A bet more grass will make a big difference. Greens are good for this time of year with the heat. Keep it for n the fairway. Would be nice if there was a course layout book to help in direction on some holes. Will go back soon.
Looking better
Two of the holes that have been closed or now open number two and number five they look great and play great the other holes are looking better as well they are doing a good job of trying to make this place better greens are good still a little patchy bunkers need work but fairways are getting better hole number 10 is still closed
The course is getting better. The sod looks great. I think it is 13 it needs help. As always the staff is friendly and helpful..
2 hole and 5 hole open
This course has the potential to be the gem of the inland empire. Keep up the hard work
BLOWN AWAY w/ the PROGRESS...
I played the course about a month after it opened in 2008-- loved it! I played it about once a year after that, seeing the difficulties they (and the rest of the golf industry) ran into with the near 5-10 year drought... BUT-- for the first time in 10 years, it looks like this course will once again be an incredible experience for any lover's of the game! They recently completely re-sodded 3 fairways and i hear that 3 more are in the plans. The owner is pouring a ton of money into the course, and I hope the community surrounding the course notices and responds by offering their green fees and vocal support. On the course, even though it is links style (and not supposed to have trees), there were a few new trees planted that will likely grow up and provide some much needed shade in some gathering spots (near greens/tee boxes where carts would park if you had to wait for the group in front of you...). i also loved the collars around the green-- nice touch. One thing we did see is a whole lot of rabbits eating the greens. We literally watched it happen in front of us. Not sure how to ::ethically:: solve that problem... SUMMARY: A year ago, I thought I played it for the last time-- 10 of 18 fairways were almost complete dirt. Yesterday, there were only 4-5 holes that were still "gone" but the rest was very enjoyable! There is HOPE for Summerly... Give it a try.
Getting better
My golfing buddy and I have played this course for several years and I've got to say this course is in the best condition that we have ever experienced. Even though several holes were closed due to improvements it was still enjoyable we just replayed three hole again. Looking forward to playing this course again when all holes are playable.
