River Oaks Golf Club

Thoroughly enjoyed the layout & condition of this course. Greens were very interesting but in overall great shape for being Poa Annua. Even from the Black Tees the course played relatively short which I have no problem with considering it just made the day more enjoyable. Aside from the VERY slow play from particular groups I will be suggesting this gem too anybody in the area looking for a great value & beautiful course.

Pretty nice course and nicely maintained. Some nice short par 4s but if you don’t hit it in right place there is usually a bunker waiting for you. Wide fairways and minimal trees blocking most shot angles. Greta driving range but the prices a tad higher than normal.

Good course. They tell me the fairways are nice( haven't hit from one yet! Lol). The whole course is very well kept. I wish they had a phone number placed at the 9th tee to order food so its ready to go when you hit the turn. Otherwise its all good.

My buddy and I have been playing River Oaks GC for several years. This is the first time back in several months. The course seems to be well maintained, and I saw several newer commercial mowers in use. The course is located near orchards (almonds?) and is always pleasantly quiet. The greens were in great shape as were the fairways. The rough was mowed so you didn't lose a ball if you are not stripping down the middle. The staff is pleasant. The restaurant was great for a snack after 18 holes (I had the quesadilla). Very much enjoyed the rounds, looking forward to next time.

River Oaks' condition is in the best conditioin in a long time. Perfect day to play. Not hot, sunny, and no wind. Also very few mosquitos--typically has a lot of mosquitos due to being close to the river. Pace of play was fast--played in 3 hours and 20 minutes in a twosome with a tee off time of 12:30 p.m. Very enjoyable day. I scored well and made a new golfing friend.

Course was in great shape. Greens were Bermuda grass with little slope. True but very slow. Able to 2 putt from great distances. Mix of 3, 4 and 5 pars well received.

I really don’t want to write this review because I want this course to remain hidden but it’s an amazing course the greens are always groom correctly and the people there are extremely friendly I will give this 10 stars out of five.

Great for beginners or those looking for less challenging shots off the tee. Not much in the way of woods or tall grass to get lost in. Sloped greens and bunkers on approach offer good short game challenges. Not much in the way of a clubhouse, small range, and cart paths are bumpy and not well maintained. Great walking course as it is pretty tight. Very forgiving course. A few beautiful holes mixed in.

Nice course, good greens, challenging yet forgiving...drove an hour to play here and was well worth the trip!
