River Oaks Golf Club

Walkable course with lots of bunkers and doglegs to be found here, smallish greens with slope and some undulation, but nothing ridiculous. Conditions are a bit rough in spots right now and course is a little soft, but overall not bad. Pace was a little slow but that was because a group jumped in between other groups in front of us. Good value compared to a lot of the other courses in the area.

Very well groomed course! and interesting design. Friendly pro shop. And a very good price.

My first negative review ever... Normally the front 9 is fine with a 1:30-1:45 pace... but better plan on 3 hrs on the back nine. Staff have apparently been instructed by mgmt to start any walk-ups onto the 10th to max revenues. Last two visits, at the turn, there were 8 to 10 ppl on the 10th tee that didn't play the front. The 10th, 11th n 12th are a sh1t-show. Never playing here again. $50 for 9?... May as well play Yocha Dehe.

We enjoyed our round at River Oaks. The greens had been aerated about 3 weeks before and were still recuperating. Grass on greens was still long and greens were bumpy and didn't run very true. The rest of the course was in very nice shape and I'm sure the greens are better now after another week or so. Looking forward to playing it again soon.

Booked a tee time with my buddies. Arrived early and no carts available. Not a big deal since we were going to the range to warm up anyway. Less than 5 mins to tee time and still no cart.

Finally got a cart but didn’t get to tee off til 25 mins after scheduled tee. There was a line of carts at the first tee box. Groups ahead also were late. No marshal the whole day.

It was busy and the staff should’ve had somebody out there keeping the pace up. As we were playing we saw several 4-person groups in single carts. Not usually a big deal but on a busy day... I’d expect better planning or something.

To start the back 9 was a 2-3 group wait. I mean c’mon. Again lack of a marshal on a busy day.

I’ve played here several times and had great experiences. For me today was a shocker.

Greens were in great condition with very few left behind divots! Roughs are treacherous so stay on the fairway or 1st cut! Shot an 87 with 8 pars and 0 Birdies :( other than that it was a Great Round...

Greens in great shape, even after being punched 7-10 days prior. Locals in their own carts can be a little pushy if you're new to this course..

Tee to green, course is in good condition. Greens are really poor, it appears they were aerated two to three weeks ago based on sand still on greens, however still very, very bumpy and unbelievably slow.

They should still be offering aeration discount.

Greens were airated a little over a week ago..when they come back course will be 5 star rated

Love this course, but today Greens had been aerated and sanded. No notice on golf now of these conditions. Putting was impossible.
