Miami Shores Country Club

It has been a long time dince I last played this vourse. Fortunately it was in good vondition and enjoyable to play with family

Traffic in the area is horrible. No beverage cart.

However the pace is slow (took 5 hours). The fairways and green are in very good condition. The greens are very fast. I don’t like though to crisscross fairways to go on the next hole. One cross in the middle of a fairway and you could be hit by a ball.

The course is excellent in challenge, ambiance and overall condition. The layout of hole sequence leaves something to be desired with carts scattered all over, #2 also enroute to 13, 9 nowhere near 8, that’s the idea of layout. Staff overall very good but service sometimes lacking. They charge $6.00 for tipping that they secured from my wife while I was making a call. I always refuse this because on average $10.00 is given to their staff. When bringing this to the golf shops attention they said it would be waived next time. But they asked for the money in cash. So, the request was made to refund for yesterday’s round. The staff member then got technical and asked me for the receipt after which he refunded the money. After the round no one was available to wipe down the clubs and assist bringing the clubs to the car. And, that’s the point. You don’t get anything for nothing. Starter got $5.00 bucks but no one else lifted a finger!

I was visiting from out of town so had to pay nonresident rate with small bucket for $145. For that price they need to have rangers that move people along. They were already two tee times behind by 10am, and there were three groups on the 2’d hole. It got better after that but still a bit of a slog. But the fairway and greens and sand were all above average for a public course so I would recommend for residents where the rate is only $81.

Small elevated greens had to approach green with high ball flights, greens were very fast.
