Miami Shores Country Club

MSCC is in tiptop shape. I'm a 25 handicaper and was forced to think about what club I would use and where I would hit the ball.

Whilst I accept that this is a public facility and the course was in reasonable condition I would never recommend this place and would never go back - even if I wasn’t charged.

The course is old fashioned with a large amount of small crowned greens . The layout is confusing , the staff unwelcoming and the pace of play a total disaster , with no ranger to be seen - over 4hours to play 15 holes, by which time we had had enough and gave up.

My wife and I are good golfers and we’re put into a game with 2 hackers who took 3 air shots and 4 mulligans before they reached the ladies tee on the first. It took 15 minutes for them to get up to our drives and there was no starter or ranger to talk to. We debated whether to walk-in and ask for a refund but we didn’t want to risk loosing our place on the course and there was no one to ask and the game behind had driven and were waiting . We decided to leave our playing companions and carried on, at their suggestion without them. We then spent 4 honours waiting on every shot. It was AWFUL

Wonderful group of folks working here! From the pro shop to the range attendants to the restaurant. Also.. the greens at this course are in very good condition… fast and true.

I played this course two days in a row. As I'm not a resident, the rate was ~$125 on a weekend day. This is very expensive for a municipal / semi-private course - I've played much nicer courses for less.

However, this course is fun! Water on FL courses sometimes wears me out. This course has an appropriate amount of water and provides great risk/reward options for playing the course. Greens are elevated and have bunkers guarding the front. Your short game will be tested if you miss the green short or long. Greens are in great shape and roll very well. There is a grass driving range. I played Trump Doral Silver the day before and much preferred this course.

This was the first time and last time I would play on this course. The entire staff team was unfriendly and rude. They charged $3/person at the checking in as the tips to the staff for their effort of making sure the social distance protocol was enforced. Well. They did nothing whatsoever about that: nobody wore masks at all. They didn’t have carts available and were rude. No rangers. It took us 6 hours to finish the round. Horrible horrible experience

I really enjoyed the course, but the pace was so slow, we started off with a delay of 30 minutes to our booked teetime.....

Other than the luke warm reception when checking in, course was in amazing shape considering the amount of rain received the night before.
