Quality Course
Nice layout with very good crowned greens . Overall, course was nice. Did not like the back to back par 3s.
A nice course, with pace-of-play issues
A nice traditional Miami course and club. Good practice facilities, and a friendly staff. The course is a very traditional Florida track, plays fair from tee to green, and the greens were in excellent shape (fast and true). The pace-of-play on the front side was close to unbearable; at the time I thought this might be a six-hour round. Apparently, many local players (and I did observe many as somewhat elderly) left after nine. Playing the back nine was a VERY nice golf experience.
I went back to the driving range for a little more practice and tuning-up. Overlooking the range is the club restaurant. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows. I just wish I had more time .
Beauty Old School
Great old school course with immaculate greens. Off the tee the course is pretty forgiving with no OB/houses on course. Crowned greens so difficult holding balls on the green (always play front edge FYI) but once you are there let the fun begin. Beautiful trees and scenery, 2 trains passed during the round. Def recommend to anyone especially with a hot deal. Mk.
Decent track but ran poorly
I'm from CA and decided to play this course in the area. Initial thoughts were this was definitely an old county club layout which I like but ran poorly. I called previous day to ask about clubs they rent and was told brand new Taylor made and they would have a stiff steel set. Well when I showed up, clubs were definitely not new and did not offer what was promised. Ended up playing with a RBZ Graphite Reg Set which was disappointing since I called. When talking to staff, most seem uninterested players coming to golf and just didn't have that approachable friendly vibe. Overall, I'd recommend the club with your own clubs and don't expect the extra frills that make you appreciate certain clubs and staff members.
Greens hard to hold. great old Florida trees flank fairways
The greens at this course are on the small side and almost always elevated. They are hard to hold unless the approach shot has a lot of loft, which isn't always easy playing from the blues if you aren't a really long driver. The rough is thicker than at most courses so there is a definite penalty for missing the fairway. I just wish there were more water hazards on the course to make it a little more challenging. Love the old Florida trees flanking many of the fairways
Best greens in miami
Enjoy my day, staff was great, pace was great and course in great shape. Great value
Nice but too slow.
The course is nice although the layout is cumbersome to say the least. Finding the next tee is often times a task in itself.
We happened to have a foursome ahead of us, one of which was a terrible beginner taking several mulligans in each tee. Not funny
GREAT GOLF COURSE
miami shores is ,in my opinion, one of the best course in southern florida. the reception when you arrive is second to none the course condition is amazing, from the tee boxes to the greens. the greens are slightly elevated and extremely fast and true. it is a great test of golf for everyone. the pace of play is under 4 hours
i highly recommend miami shores for all golfers from a low handicap to a high handicap
Nice old school layout--Good conditions
1st time playing this course--buddies recommended it so I figured why not--paid the So FL Resident rate which is fair for 9am on a Saturday morning. Course conditions were good, not immaculate but well kept considering how much traffic the course gets. It's an old-school layout, on the shorter side but has plenty of penalties . The course will keep you thinking off the tee and the greens have plenty of slope to keep you interested. Would play again--feel like I left some shots out there and I want a rematch! Hit em straight and Happy Holidays!
Pleasant rond at Miami Shore
Fairways and greens were in great condition,Green very fast and lots of iguanas .
great course
the course was in great shape , me and my kids had a great time .
Why not to play Miami Shores
The course is always in great shape but pace of play is always 5 hours. I was member and let my membership go because you pay to belong to a club that allows everybody and their brother out.
I have gone back twice in the year since my memebership expired and both times walked off because of pace of.
Has potential
Possibly a better coarse but not doing my visit just days after the rain. Crs & cart paths flooded, difficult to find altered routes. Personnel assistance poor. Food & snacks unavailable until 11am. No food carts nor water available along the crs.
Don't arrive hungry!
Everything was fine except no food served until after 11am! We had to rush to try and find food and then arrived back at course with no time to spare. No warm up etc. Just make sure you eat b4 arriving.
Friendly staff, great day out
A great course with some of the friendliest staff we have encountered. Word of warning, check the directions before heading off if you are using Google Maps as they have the location, by name, in the middle of the ports area. Once we put in 10000 Biscayne Boulevard all was good.
We got there late and then realised one of us had not packed our shoes, the pro was awesome and offered to lend us some if we didn't want to buy some.
The course is lovely and well maintained. Being a two we had caught up to those in front by the ninth and the next nine would have been slow, we asked if we could replay the first nine and they said that was fine, nothing was a problem at all.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience
Great course
The course was in great shape.
Best Greens in South Florida
I took my foursome out to Miami Shores Country Club becuase we had heard that their greens were in good shape. I'd like to say that morning they were in the best shape I had ever played. They were fast and running true! The tee boxes have always been good and the rough was tough. I booked for the following week on Monday. You have to check out the course!!
