A jewel in the llano estacado
A very challenging course, undulating and fast greens. Cannot be appreciated looking at the score card. A great test!
Tough But Fun Course
I was in Lubbock for my son's college orientation at Texas Tech, so I decided to play a round of golf. Little did I know that they were having a tournament, so the earliest round available was at 5pm. The sun was still beaming and course played very well. The greens rolled true, but some of the pin placements for the tournament was just CRAZY! There was also plenty of wildlife on the course! I played alone, so I was paired with two guys that have played the course a few times and even they said the hole placement was tough. It was pretty dark by the time we made it to 17, but we were determined to play the entire course. Can't wait to go play the course again, I mean visit my son in college...lol.

Excellent Course
Beautiful layout and in pristine shape (tee boxes, fairways and greens). Played the RED tees which run approx 6900 yards and enjoyed the round despite 103 degrees weather and 15 mph winds.
It's a challenging course and requires smart play to save par.

Always a pleasure
The fairways and greens are always in amazing shape. My complaints come from the fact that they were having a tournament over the next week so many many foursomes were playing practice rounds, hitting multiple shots from the same locations and slowing up the pace of play with no course marshal in sight.
The other complaint is one that has been a persistent problem at this course for as long as I have been playing it (7 years), bunkers. They are completely unattended to and it shows. We were fortunate enough to play 2 rounds, and were the 4th group off in the morning. Not one of the dozens of bunkers on the course had even been raked. Most of the bunkers had human and animal footprints all over them and the sand was very inconsistent from bunker to bunker. When you are a course of this caliber that is simply unacceptable.
This is a great course with a great layout and it is in perfect shape outside of the bunkers. Do yourself a treat and go play when you can.

Great coures
This is with out doubt one of the nicest courses around. The course was challenging, and the par 5 on hole nine was insane. (distance wise). Great value for curse and the bar is way cheap. Made for a nice Sunday.

What a great course. The staff was excellent and the fairways and greens true. Be aware of 15-18...it's like murderees row! Can't wait to play there again!

Tough course
After less than an inch of rain the day before, it was cart paths only, which was totally uncalled for. Other than that the course is great as usual. Just stay in the fairway the ruff is totally unplayable.

Other Players
The Rawls Golf Course was fine however the other golfers were horrible. We had a group yell at our group to play through. FYI, we were going to let you play through as soon as you caught up to us. Second, girls can play golf and yes my daughter's golf ball marker was on the green. Some idiot picked up my daughter's marker off the green when we let them play through. I had to chase them down to get the marker back.

Great course
This was my first time to play Rawls in about 8 years and it was in amazing shape. Everything was very green and fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were very receptive and fast at the same time. The terrain and bunker made for a challenging round. I can't wait to go back and play another round.

Great Course! Hit 'em straight
The Rawls course was a great surprise, if it wasn't for the wind, I think I would have had an even better time. It is a nice test with great greens. Keep it in the fairway or just off, otherwise, bring some extra balls. It might be too much for a beginner to chew on.

Awesome Round
Great course to play. The only downfall was the greens. They were pretty hard and tough to stick a shot. Other than that it was a great time. I will be back.

SLOWER than SLOW
We had to wait three deep on a par three, it was a 45 min. wait!! Marshal came by at various times through out play but did not seem to pick up the pace of play...was not worth the money for that reason....course is fun and in good condition but the pace of play was the worse we have ever endured....

Rawls is the only course I play in Lubbock. The course is in great shape, the food is great, and the staff is very friendly.
