Great day of golf took my friend he had never played this course he was impressed by the great views of San Francisco course was in good shape greens were fast !

Great course. Had a awesome round. Challenging but fun. Not sure if it was windy today or just where the course is located. Suspect the second. But overall great experience. Will come back for sure.

Always in pretty good shape, walkable, fun, occasionally it looks and plays like a poor man's Pebble when the weather is absolutely perfect, though most of the time the winds are pretty gusty and the maintenance of the course is a little above average.

Although played 2 day's after a mild rain storm the course was muddy as if there's leaking sprinklers. There's soft spots all over where the ball plugs and my us gets mud on it.j I believe it was still watered after the rains,. Fix the leaks and let it dry. The greens were pretty nice. Heavy play.

Fun course but my only issue would be the teeing areas and so uneven and bumpy that it’s hard to have a flat stance. Greens were nice and rolled well/quick,

I didn’t play my best round, but the course is in good condition. I was able to play 18 holes in 4 hours whiling walking. Will be back to redeem myself.

Great views and value. Many great water views on several holes. This course could rival Pebble Beach with some badly needed investment.

Got a last minute tee time on a Friday Morning to play Monarch Bay, and took a gamble and played a pretty enjoyable round of golf. Was paired some nice folks. One player left after 9 holes, and the other two were playing a skins match against each other. Pace of play was good.

Pros:

-For how flat the plot of land is, there is some smart use of elevation, and hole variation. I was expecting a ton of copy and paste par 4s, but mostly all the holes felt different.

-Course was kept up reasonably well, the greenside bunkers were playable, and I didn't experience an unfair lie due to course conditions.

-Greens could be deceptive but fun at times.

Cons:

-For the back 9 the designer really took full liberty in putting bunker surrounding most of the green. It's challenging, and can get a bit frustrating. Lots of blind bunkers, where you really need to know the course to not get in them.

-The wind can really make or break a round here.

I'd definitely play this course again, and will. I'd also recommend the course to anyone.

2 stars for being open during Covid and giving the locals the opportunity to play golf. Unfortunately this course is a poop hole! Literally it is! Golf and other animal poop ALL over the course. The 14th fairway is full of bird feathers on the entire apron of the fairway to the lake. Practically all areas of the course is damp and wet. Expect muddy conditions even in a dry & windy day. Your golf balls will plug after you tee off. It won't roll and will be filthy on every approach shot. Greens roll ok, a bit slow but will hold its line. Don't play any to little break. Pace of play was slow and no marshall on the course. 4.5hr round in the afternoon. I guess is normal for this course as the locals didn't care. Glad I got a chance to play here for bucket list but won't be back.

Booked hot deal with cart included but the course refused to honor it at check in.

Long walk to cross the channel.

Monarch Bay is a good course with some challenging holes especially on the back nine when one gets the wind off the bay. The course has a number of fun holes and it is in pretty good condition.

The only negative was the pace of play was a bit slow.

This course is in great condition for a public course. I was pleasantly surprised by how lush the course was. A lot of sources this time of year are very dry and patchy.

Thoroughly enjoy the course. As a player new to golf it was wide open yet challenging. My only regret was not being able to finish 18 holes after a 5:20 pm tee time. I could only get to the 12th hole before it was too dark to see my ball. The course is very busy so I was placed with others to make foursomes. Play tends to be a little slow due to traffic but the view of the bay is amazing.

Enjoy this place the course is perfectly maintained. The long grass eats your ball.
