Course in adequate shape
Have played this course before and it seems like the maintenance is not as good as it once was.
Great course for the price
Very nice layout. Fairways could use some more grass, but for the cost this was a great value. I would p,ay it again!
Great Layout
This course is well designed, with tee options for all kinds of players. The fairways and greens were in good shape, however the rough was spotty and the bunkers were inconsistent (some very soft and fluffy, others quite firm). There's plenty of lakes on the course providing challenges and nice views. It appeared that the course might be struggling to maintain the course at the level it was designed and that may account for some of the conditions I saw. Hopefully the management can find the right balance between cost to play and what areas to maintain on the course and this place will be a gem.
Great day at the course
Pine Lakes was offered thru GolfNow with a great price. The course was in good condition. I played in a twosome but we picked up a single - had a great time. Friendly staff. Will play there again.
Greens a challenge
A course that challenges your skill at putting. Very few level greens . Three putts not uncommon. Fairways a bit on the sparse side but overall a fair course with not many unfair or unsettling holes. You must not lose your concentration however. If you do, the course can bite you in the most tender of spots. Your ego! Van Zandt.
Great vakue
Great value, much better than expected greens and fairways. Gotta to be careful with all the houses surrounding the course, leaves very little room for mistakes.
First course of the vacation
Layout was not bad and the price was right! Course was not in the best shape though. Tee boxes and fairways were fair at best. Greens were ok.
A Pleasant Surprise
Towers above the other Grande course, Cypress Knoll. It was in good condition, super fast greens, and traps which were consistent, important for it has many. Very playable, and excellent value. Only downside was two groups who were slow, we circled with nobody behind and ended up playing the 18 + 5.
enjoyable time
Pine Lakes has improved the playing conditions to make it a track worth visiting and enjoying the experience. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape with a wonderful variety of holes. this was their championship weekend but I hope the conditions continue for regular play. Definitely would play here again. Only problem were some very slow golfers ahead of us and no ranger in sight.
This course in excellent condition
Course in great condition. Fairways excellent; greens fast and smooth. Pace of play-4 hrs.
Great value, great track
The greens were in excellent condition and a nice variety of holes, challenging but fair. Highly recommend it !
great variety
The grounds were in good condition even after heavy rain the night before. Love the lay out of the course with it's mixture of rough and water. Need a ranger to keep people moving along!! And to respect "car path only" signs.
Just OK
By looking at the website and reading how they talk up the course, we expected a much nicer course. It was ok but not great. We played in the afternoon so we didn't pay the higher green fee. If we had paid full price we would have been greatly disappointed.
this 18 has some hidden challenges
overall in good playable condition, greens were fast and a little bumpy
Slowwwwwwww
Had a girl two groups in front getting lessons on the course. Might want to put the kibosh on letting that happen. The old tuggers in front of us weren't much better. Thank goodness for the GolfNow rate of $15, that made walking off after 9 more acceptable.
Very fair golf course.
Played 36 holes in less than 7 hours! Greens were in good/great shape and the 1st cut off the fairways was quite forgiving.
Disappointed
We were disappointed in the condition of the course. The tee's were bare dirt in many locations. Fairways were weedy and greens were in bad shape as well. Maybe we caught it at bad time but we would probably not go again.
Not as it used to be...
Wet, cart path only, and not being taken care of as in the past. Overgrown areas. Greens and tee boxes need work. Tough winter has done a job on the course. Staff is very nice.
On the slow side
Overall it was a pleasant experience but if you're looking for a quicker pace of play this may not be the place. We waited on almost every shot. Course conditions were as well as could be expected with regard to weather and time of year.
Of fun golf course
The course is very fun to play lots of water lots of carries if you choose to take them I would definitely go back and play again
