Riverwood Golf Club

Everyone was very nice. The course was nicer than a private country club we played the day before by far. Course was in nice shape, pace of play was great. We’d play again when we’re back in town.

Complimentary range balls - Nice touch. Cart service was good - we saw the cart girl four times which was nice since it was so hot.

Greens were well maintained.

Range, some tee boxes and spots in fairways very dried out. Greens ran quite a bit slower.. Bunkers were in pretty good shape. Long dry spell in area. Needs rain badly..

Pace of play was very slow, over 4 1/2 hours, in particular the back nine took 2 1/2 hours with group ahead having no delays or a group in front of them. Course marshals had disappeared by then. Course as always in excellent condition.

Greens were super fast, actually perfect. Course is in A 1 condition…finally got some roll on the fairways since it is very dry here. My only concern is I wish the sprinkler heads were marked with the distance to the pin. This is my favorite course in the North Port area…… I have never had a bad experience.

Sadly number 17's layout mars this great golf course. Very little chance to get on in 2 for a par 5.

All else really, really good.

Fairways in great shape considering the lack of rain. Slow group in front of us on the back nine with no course marshall to move pace along after the starter made it clear to us the expectation. Range was nothing but dirt. Bar Manager opened up for us and made an awesome Margarita after the round. Love the challenging course layout. We'll be back. Pray for rain.

Layout is good, but course maintenance has gone down from last year. Rained out after 5 holes (1 hour into round). Pro shop was closed when we came off the course during the t-storm and I was denied a raincheck when I called the next morning. Too many good other local options, so I won't be back.

Course was very dry as are all courses in southwest Florida, greens were fast as always (even tough recently slit cut).

Recommend you give it a try.

This is a fun and challenging course that has a unique course layout. The course is laid out in two circular patterns, one for each nine. Therefore, there are no holes that are parallel to another. There are tall pines, pepper hedge, and native area lining the fairways. If you hit your ball wayward, you might not find it. The greens were in great condition but they are on the smaller side, size wise. The course conditions were good and I enjoyed playing here.

A bit dry in some places but totally understandable due to drought and watering restrictions. Reasonably dry compared to other courses in area. Actually, better than most if not all courses in the area.

Course they f this caliber should not allow attitude that exists from some staff members

Letting groups go off on front and back is a straight up money grab. 2 hour front 3 hour back 9

This one of the best courses in the area. It is always in great condition and has a great layout.

**Riverwood Golf Club – Port Charlotte, FL**

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

This was my fifth round at Riverwood, and it continues to be one of my go-to courses in the area. The layout is fun and engaging, and the overall course conditions were impressive — especially considering the significant drought Florida has been dealing with. The greens, fairways, and grounds crew clearly put in the work to keep things looking and playing well.

My only real gripe is the pace of play. Riverwood tees off both nines throughout the day, so even if your group moves quickly through your first nine, you're likely looking at a 20-30 minute wait at the turn. That pushed our total round to about four hours and fifteen minutes, which takes some of the momentum out of an otherwise smooth day.

That said, Riverwood is an excellent course and a great value for what you're paying. If you're in the Port Charlotte area and looking for a quality round, I'd highly recommend it.
