First timer
Staff very friendly and helpful. Course was in great condition. Would recommend playing here to anyone.
Chimney oaks
Course was great nice firm greens rolled smooth would have liked a little more speed but fairways were great and there was some tough which made seeing the fairway with the stripes easier you got one 4 star area only because the cart paths are terrible I thought I was 4 wheeling it really took a toll on my back but that was the only negative
Must play new owners new club house and course is just great don’t miss this one
Staff and all employees were awesome will be back a little more often but may have to bring some padding
Perfect Golf Day
wonderful day at Chimney Oaks today, Not crowded, never saw anyone in front or behind us. Greens although quite slow but in very good shape. Really appreciate layout of this course as it is pretty golfer friendly for all.
Staff does an excellent job getting you out to play.
Great Course
Course was in great condition. Tough course from the black tees but fun to play. Firm fast greens.
keeps getting better
We play here every week and it keeps getting better
Super
Not sure which is nicer- the course or their staff. Plan to return soon.
Love this course
It was a longer round because it was Saturday, but still less than 4 1/2 hours. Will play here again.
Chimney Oaks is a go
I have watched the changes made by the management of this course over the last couple of years. Friendly, attentive staff, course conditions are outstanding and the new clubhouse is beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone in this area.
Weekly round
This place is getting better every week. plus 3 1/2 round.
Very nice course!
Great golf course! Very challenging but fun. Has several risk/reward holes. A lot of improvements going on so it will only get better. I’m definitely going back and recommend this course.
Nice Course
Was hoping the course was as nice as the previous reviewers said since I hadn't played there before. They were spot on. The greens are in terrific shape with very few ball marks. The course layout is very fair with generous landing areas and not too many places where the trees encroach. Will definitely be back.
The new owners of this property have done an excellent
job of refurbishing the course. Staff was excellent, carts were new, course was in great shape and facilities were nice.
A little pricy for the area but you get what you pay for.
Great course
We play this course every week and it keeps getting better every time out.
Fun Course with challenging layout and Great Geens
This was my first time visiting and playing Chimney Oaks. I really like the course conditions and the friendliness of all the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to interact with.
The new owners are working very hard to upgrade and make the facilities top notch. There is lots of working taking place to upgrade and improve all aspects of the golf experience.
The have a very nice short game practice area as well as driving range. Although the driving range is very sparse with grass right now, give it some time and the driving range will be very nice as well.
The conditions were great for mid-April. The greens are the true gem and challenge of Chimney Oaks. The greens are fast, smooth, and very challenging. They are in fantastic condition with VERY FEW non-repaired ball marks. It has been several years since I played on such challenging and fun greens. All the greens have MANY humps, undulations, slopes and subtle breaks. Many greens are sloped going away from the approach shot (sloped from front to back where most greens are sloped from back to front). The fairways, bunkers, tee boxes were all in very good condition.
The only drawbacks that I can state of Chimney Oaks is that it would be nice to have a bathroom or two around the course. Also, the price is not in line with similar courses in the area. I played on Saturday afternoon and paid $60. For me, it is not a $60 course. I loved the course, just not $60 worth. Just down the road about 20 minutes are several courses for less than $60 (Legacy on Lanier, 3 courses at Chateau Elan and others which are just as nice, but less expensive). I would definitely play more often if the price were 10-15 bucks less.
Having said that, I really like the course and staff and I will definitely play here again, just not as frequently. The course is very challenging, but fair.
So much improved
Played here last fall and was impressed at the improvement from a few years back. Is even better now. Love playing this course!
MUST PLAY COURSE
Found this gem by expanding my search parameters to include golf courses over 50 miles from Atlanta and what an incredible decision. This is a Mark McCumber course, and another one of his greats. The conditions were incredibly good for the money, greens, fairways, bunkers, tee boxes - all very good. 5 bucks for unlimited range balls and a stellar short game practice area. The replay rate is 22 bucks. I played 54 holes between 11:40am and 6:30pm. Pace of play was fine (skipped two holes with slow players the whole day, rest of course was wide open.) FYI - your first time around this track will be a little frustrating. Once you see the course one time it is way way easier around. For example, do NOT go long on. Do NOT go left on 7 off the tee. Seriously though - get in the car and go up to Chimney Oaks. You will enjoy it.
