About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Great track especially for the price. You have to be strategic off the tees. I thought the greens rolled very nicely. I was paired with a random group of 3 and they were good people. I’d definitely come back.

Greens were aerated so hard to know what greens would be like otherwise. Some kids jumped in front of us on 10th tee. Things were so slow on back we didn’t finish.

Amazing course
Best course in the area BY FAR! The improvements made to the course are unbelievable.

The staff is very unfriendly and course is not well managed
The course is a pretty decent layout but they let too many people go at once and it gets very crowded in spots. The bar staff was pretty friendly however the man behind the counter was pretty rude. The cart boys that they had cleaning the carts seemed pretty irresponsible and seemed as if they were drinking on the job. The course is nice however I think it might need some help with the management and employees.

Hidden gem
I played Bear Creek for the first time on 5/30 and enjoyed the course and amenities so much I returned on 6/4. The course is a real hidden gem, tucked away in a neighborhood. The facility personnel are friendly and helpful, the driving range does have you hitting from mats, not a biggie to just warm up. Now to the course conditions, the greens are in good condition and the fairways are in nice shape, however the tee boxes are very hard and could use some water to help get tees into them. The pace of place was excellent for the times I was there. Other than that this a course will be one of my regulars to play.

Pay with cash
Be very careful when using card here… They had issues with one of computers and charged my card again 3 days later.. call owner total jerk … pay with cash or go somewhere else…

GREAT COURSE
A GREAT FIND. GREENS WERE PUNCHED AND SANDED BUT BEAUTIFUL SHOULD BE PERFECT BY NOW WILL REALLY ENJOY PUTTING THEM. SOME BLIND HOLES. GET THE BOOK FROM THE CLUBHOUSE. YOU WONT BE SORRY. REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING THERE. KINDA FAR FOR ME SO WOULD GO BACK NOT AS A SINGLE. WOULD LOVE TO PLAY A FOURSOME THERE.

Nice Greens
Bear Creek has what I look for in a course. Nice greens, not overly wooded just enough to keep my shanks from hitting homes, pace of play is good and they just added a range for quick warm up. For the $$$ it's a steel.
