About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Need starters on the weekend.
If a round is over $50 there should be a starter/marshal helping control pace of play, especially on a holiday. Luckily, a couple of groups were able to work together and consolidate as necessary, but that shouldn’t have to happen. And we were waiting 5-10 minutes on each hole to hit.

6 hour round
I cannot believe you can run a weekend and holiday business without the appropriate staff. No starter no bar staff and no ranger. Got to do a better job if the price goes up. You know that can barter for help.

I don’t understand
Because I booked on the GolfNow app my friend who got hurt during the round and couldn’t finish was not allowed a refund for the back 9 or even a rain check to play when he Isn’t injured anymore. People were on top of each other the entire round. Overall was just an average experience and a little dissatisfied with the no help with my friend.

Never get to play
I took a day off as vacation and reserved this course through Golfnow. When we got there, qe learned there was flood and the course was not playable. They could habe called ma and notify that course was not playable due to flood before we got there since it was about 1 hr drive. Luckily we were able to play round of golf near Providence. Tks to the lady whonwirked there at the course.
Really disappointed but hope to play there next time. I have asked for reimbursement and hopdully we can get reimbused online.

Great facility
Course is well kept and maintained. Greens were in great shape. Only negative is some of the cart paths need to be worked on. Highly recommend this place.

Hottest day of the Year
Recent changes at Bear Creek have been very positive. New Carts, New Driving Range and New attitude. They's spent some money on the course and everyone was nicer than ever.
Only complaint goes to the greenskeepers. Almost every hole had burnt, worn edges. Had 4 putts lipout due to bad hole edges.
For the hottest day of the year...it was a great day and great round.

Good but busy
Good course just super slow. I understand it’s the weekend but they ran out of carts when we got there and had to wait 15 after our tee time to start our round which wasn’t too bad but the round ended up being close to 5 hours due to all the waiting around at every tee box. But other than that, pretty decent course.

Hidden Gem and not for long
I hope it stays hidden. This is one of the best secrets in North Atlanta. Reminds me of Chicopee Woods because it's so well maintained. Pro Shop is top notch and I love their motto. I'll definitely be back....more than once
