About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Fantastic Course!!
This course is absolutely phenomenal. It’s great to see all the progress this course has made over the past few years. They have also just added a driving range so that is a huge plus!! Spoke to the guy at the front desk (can’t remember his name) and the owner, and they were both very nice guys and answered all the questions I had in an insightful manner. It’s a great course and I will definitely be playing here again!

Amazing
The staff is super friendly and the course is in amazing shape and the new driving range is awesome doesn’t leave green marks on my clubs and you can put tees in the mat. They are definitely making major improvements and I love it.

Not worth the money
At 60 dollars I feel they are trying too hard to make their money back on the improvements to the club house and addition of the driving driving range. Most of the tee boxes are dirt, the path is mostly trashed and the pace of play is at around 5 hours. I wouldn't complain if it was still 35 but at 60 it's not worth it

My adventure at Bear Creek
First off let me say I will be back to play this course again
, as I wasn't able to complete my round due to rain . But the part of the course I did get to play was very nice , and I'm sure once the fairways green out this spring it'll be even better . the greens were in great shape and running true , but I'll give a better review once I've played the complete course..

Average
Greens were the only good thing about the course. They didn’t give me my own cart because I booked a hot deal and made me ride with someone else even though there were like 5 people out on the course. I hit from tips, he hit from whites so having an extra cart would’ve made the round more enjoyable, especially when we hit on opposite sides of the fairway. Staff was friendly.

Great value
Bear creek is a fun course. With the new driving range it will be even better. The only negatives are hole 14 when it’s rainy. Love playing golf here and always have loads of laughs.

slower than slow play
The starter was very nice, good thing since we had to wait with him for a half hour after the group in front of us teed off due to insufficient rental carts. The pace was glacial, we caught up with that group on 9 and had to quit after 15 . In fairness it was a warm day and a holiday (Mon after New Year's Day). But where was the ranger?

Would not recommend!
Owner is a real piece of work. I have known him all of my life and know exactly how he operates. *as a former employee I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Majority of operation is illegally funded and don’t imagine course being in business much longer. Staff is very rude and won’t think twice about screwing you over to get your money. Course is a dog track honestly. Fairways are trash, just like the owner. STAY AWAY! Most positive reviews on here are fake, don’t trust it.
