About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Priced High
Driving range was nice. There’s a sign posted saying you can’t hit driver on the range.
Course should have been in much better shape for last week in April.
Greens were in good shape.
Course should have been price at $30.00 per 18 considering the shape it’s in.
Will be checking out other courses moving forward.

Nice updates.
First time playing since they did the course updates. Overall I liked it. The greens are in much better condition then they used to be. They really cleaned up the course nicely. The only two issues on Sunday was the rate of play ( which was brutally slow) and hole 16. They completely destroyed it to add the driving range (which you can’t even hit a driver on).

Had a blast playing here yesterday. The layout was a bit confusing though and the driving range wasn’t very impressive. The greens were in great shape! Would recommend to a friend, for sure!

Continues to Improve
This course consistently presents in decent shape and it’s showing steady improvement. There are some funky routing spots and a few holes that could be improved with a light design change, but regardless, I enjoy playing this track.

Overall I really enjoyed the course. It has a few blind tee shots but other than that it’s fairly straightforward. The staff was extremely friendly and were very easy to work with. I had a friend from out of town join us to watch and learn what was going on, and the staff was very helpful and even allowed him to ride an electric bike around with us (not free of course but still). The bike even broke down on hole 7 and they were nice enough to bring another one out no questions asked no charge. The course could keep up with the tee boxes a little better but other than that it was well maintained. For the price I paid, the greens especially were very, very nice. I enjoyed the scenery and the drives between holes, and thought that the course was extremely pretty. I am in college, so cheap, beautiful courses are exactly what I am looking for. This course matched that very well, and I would 100% recommend anyone to play here.

Dirt Track
This is a dirt track. Very little real grass. Could not use a tee on several holes because the ground was so hard. No starter so people just tee off one after another with no spacing.

Not recommended
This course is defiantly not over $40 dollar course! not maintained cart path is all cracked up and fair way is not maintained putting green was acceptable for the money. Tee boxes have been moved around and shorted courses big time.
