About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Course is in decent shape, fairways dormant greens are pretty good over all roll nice great value for the price.

Great course
Great course, very friendly employees and they are doing everything to help you. Really recommend it. Just some holes are crossing the others which I personally don’t like but other than that it’s awesome.

Water coolers
Could use some water coolers but the rest of my experience was great.

Affordable and good course
Good course for an affordable rate. Amenities is lacking a little especially on the course. There was no restroom and no water throughout the course. Lunch options were limited as well.

Nice course
Very nice course with good chipping and putting area. The only drawback is that there is no driving range

Great course
Haven’t played this course since May, but it’s looking great. After new ownership, this guy has been turning this course around. Took out some of the trees, cut some brush down to open up the course a little. And now they’re installing a driving range. Should be done within a week or two. But this course is looking good, and they just got in some new golf carts.

Overall the course and greens were in great shape. Rough was a little high, hard at times finding your ball just a few feet off of the fairway. Glad to see they are installing a driving range

Decent course for the money
The greens were true and the fairways were cut. Good round for the $35 fee.

Highly overrated
This course is below average. Was rated 4 stars before playing. 2 stars at best. The owner shows up and tees off right before us in a 5-some with no tee time. Fairways suck, rough is long and thick, and greens were not bad, and the course layout was below average too. Nobody out there starting people on the first tee box. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE CART GIRL WAS A "10". I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. NOT EVEN FOR FREE!

Good course but staff is another thing
They wouldn't give me cart keys until 2 mins before tee-time. Course was not busy at all, so not sure why.

Has so much potential
With the rain, the course needs some mowing once dried. Greens were in good shape, rolling great. Challenging course, friendly staff and good price. Wish they had the driving range and a logo ball. All of it is in the works.
