About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Excellent Greens and Fairways
The overall course conditions, with the exception of the cart paths (a little rough) were immaculate. The greens were in spectacular shape, and they rolled fast and true.

THE ODER GENTLEMAN NEEDS TO GO ARE YOUR GOING TO START LOSING BUSINESS HE'SA OLD GROUCH THAT SET IN HIS WAY WE COME TO ENJOY THE COURSE I PULLED UP TO PLAY A HOT DEAL AND I NEVER MET THE GENLEMAN I WAS PLAYING WITH AND IT WAS HE'S FIRST TIME OUT AND HE SAID WHAT IS THAT OLDER GUY PROBLEM HE DOESN'T SEEM TO LIKE PEOPLE WHO BOOKED A HOT DEAL AND HE SAID WHY IS HE BEING SO GRUMPY THE COURSE IS WIDE OPEN I TOLD HIM I HAVE A FEW FRIENDS THAT DON'T LIKE TO COME OUT HERE BECAUSE OF HIM.THE COURSE IS NICE NOT THAT GRUMPY OLD MAN MAYBE HE'S PART OWNER BUT HE GETS ON MY NERVES ALSO HE SHOULD BE WELCOMING TO PLAYERS WHOEVER OWNS THIS PLACE SHOULD SERIOUSLY GET RID OF HIM OR TALK TO HIM .

Hidden Gem Around the Atl Area
Our group will definitely be back!!! From Tee Boxes to GREENS are better than any of the other courses we pay $60 a round for. Rough is challenging, so you better hit the fairway!!!

Never play this course again.
The golf course got GolfNow to charge me $110. Because I reserved. 3 tee times and 10 golfer showed up. Never had this happen at a golf course before. When we showed up we informed the course we had 10. They acted liked everything was okay. Then after we left they contacted GolfNow and said we were no show.

Improvements have been noticed
Have been playing bear creek for years now, with the extra care they have put into course maintenance lately it has made a great impact. Fun layout with some scorable holes and some you need be a little careful.
I will continue to play here in my normal rotation of courses in the area about once a month.
Pace of play can get a little slow on the front, but that’s every golf course nowadays and by the back 9 groups are usually getting a little more spaced out.
Since it’s obvious management is putting a lot of money from the high volume of bookings back into the course, It’s not upsetting at all how busy it gets.

Charged too much
I was charged for a 4th that couldn’t show because of a positive Covid test. I booked directly through the bear creek website!! Why am I being charged a fee by GolfNow!!!

Nice course
Layout was a little wonky but other than that the front nine was great. Did not have time for a full 18

Double charged as a "No Show"
Course is nice & was in good shape other than a couple sketchy cart path areas.
Booked the tee time thru the website, and paid onsite with cash/debit cards. A couple days later got a notification from GolfNow saying I was reported as a no show and was charged for the foursome again.
Bear Creek was supposedly taking care of it in 3-5 days, but 7 days later it still hadn't been taken care of. I eventually had to go thru GolfNow myself which will take an additional week to get cleared up.
Not a great experience....
