About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Scumbag course charged me twice
Scumbag course charged me when I got to the course and then also told GN that we didn’t show up. Terrible pace of play, took almost 5 hours to play 14 holes, no water anywhere on the course, no cart girl. Absurd on all accounts. Go play Chimneys or Providence.

Course was in good shape. Cart paths are a little beat up & the pace of play was pretty slow ( maybe spread out the tee times a couple min)

the course was in great shape and I could see more improvements coming. repaving the cart paths would be nice so that clubs don't get jostled too much while driving.

Black Lives Matter
The course was over booked. The so call Marshall came straight to us. A group 4 BLACK golfers and asked us to pick up the pace. We told him that it was the tosim in front of us. They was hitting 2 balls on every hole on every strokes. But he never stopped and said a word to them. BLACK LIVES MATTER ON THE GOLF TOO!!!!!!!

Great course
Course was great and in excellent shape. Only negatives were that there were no hot dogs to eat. Just pre bought sandwiches. They also did not have any water jugs on the course.

Lush
The greens and fairways were in immaculate condition for this time of year. Putts on the greens roll true and noticed very few unrepaired pitch marks. Great value for the money.

British Open Golf in Monroe, GA
Course was fast and hard so you needed to allow for the runout around the greens. A few quirky holes, but overall a fun scoreable track with fast Bermuda greens. Need sand divot mix on the carts.
