About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Much improvement!
I’ve played this course many times over the past several years And the greens are better than they have ever been. Thus, The course has much improvement over the past few years And from what I hear Moore is coming, it driving range for example. The fairways were average but it’s just this time of the year it’s hard to have grass. Give it a go!
Fun Course at Great Value
I really enjoyed playing this course. Nice track with plenty of challenges and a few surprises. The Bermuda fairways were dormant, but the greens looked great and rolled even better.
I did not take advantage of the range or clubhouse restaurant; however, all amenities appeared to be well-maintained and properly positioned.
The pace of play got a little slow, but marshals did a good job of keeping players on schedule.
I had a great time with the layout and I look forward to returning soon.
Good Course, Better Staff
Glad I gave this course a chance. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The greens are in good condition and fast. Tee boxes are healing, but playable. The layout is pretty cool and expansive. Good mix of players of all skill levels, but pace of play did not suffer.
There is no range at the moment, but the practice green rolls truth to the course. The potential is there and I’ll definitely return during the growing season.

I really don’t want to say it’s a 360 degree change Jeff is always nice and the owner goes out his way to meet and greet everyone and tell us all his upgrades that or coming up. I’m only saying that because it may star getting crowded lol but that’s a good thing can’t say nothing negative,
Overall Good
Course was in good condition overall. Greens are exceptional! Pace of play not good (5hrs+). They need marshals to keep pace of play on track. No driving range to warm up and practice putting green smallish. Practice green very much same speed as greens on course but not even close to on course slopes and undulations. 2holes can ruin your round however which is sad (#4
).. Having said all that I did like the course.
Play here all the time
This is a great course! Play here often, will play here more often than any course around.
