Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Good Course and fair price

Enjoyed playing this course and find the improvements are starting to show. Greens are in good shape. Tee boxes need more attention but are being worked on. Clubhouse is improved with snack bar and a nice assortment of golfing supplies available.

Really! Believe what the others say. Don’t waste your money!

Tee time was for 3:28 for 2 players. Arrived and paid and wasn’t told they didn’t have carts available. While waiting 3 young mean arrive in Crocs and sweatpants. When their cart arrives, they drive home with the cart to get their golf bags! At this point we are 15 minutes past tee time! Many other we’re waiting as well. No refunds are issued, rain checks only! Guess they have my money because I don’t care to come back to such a poorly ran course! Such a beautiful day to waste our time!

Don't waste your time or money

the course is in terrible shape. No grass on the tee boxes, fairways look like an off road park, all bunkers are holding water with mud instead of sand. Greens are laughable. staff is rude

Georgia golf getaway

My wife and I have been touring S Carolina, Georgia and Florida for the past month and have played a lot of golf in our travels. Ear Creek was recommended to us by a couple we played with the previous day.

The course and greens were great even if in dormant state. Our only hiccup was the lack of direction signs. Some of the cart paths and hole layouts we're a.bit confusing. But that is our only issue. You can't beat the course and price.

It’s like our home course it’s fantastic there Jeff is one of the most accommodating person that we have met at the front desk at any course that we play on once it get some sand in those bunkers you can’t go wrong playing there. Sometimes we have a little problem with the older guy there. But overall it’s outstanding they have done a great job there. Also it’s the best course we have played on in the winter months
