About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Course review
Greens were in good shape…no dead spots. My partner enjoyed our round and wants to come back.
Greens are radical right now
Since I last played in early Summer, the greens have become pristine, smooth, and lightening fast, like professional fast. This changes the whole experience, to fun if you like a challenge, and nightmare if you like easy golf.
Traps are still unplayable…fix it. I know you’re making money at this course.
Big Changek
This course use to be a last minute decision for us. But now under new management. It is at the top of our list. Once they get the driving range it will definitely be a 5 star course. Keep up the good work. Carrier4
Nice course, horrible cart paths.
First off, the staff was very friendly. Greens are perfect, fairways are mostly good but the cart paths are atrocious. If you have any back problems, you should stay away from Bear Creek.
Continues to improve!
Course continues. to improve very time I visit. New ownership/management has done a great job since taking over this year.
Greens are always good. But beware, there are zero flat, straight putts which makes it a great challenge.
Has a little of everything, long holes, short holes, chances for birdies and bogeys.
Highly recommend putting it in your rotation.
Great course in Monroe
Greens were in perfect condition. The best greens I have played this year, I have played a variety of courses this year. Great layout, great design, great staff.
Brutally slow play
There was a foursome directly ahead that was extremely slow and did not offer play through.
Very old course
Like the lay out of course. Not too long and had some challenging holes. Pace of play was very slow. No ranger to keep pace. Cart person didn't get to us til back 9. Tee box were not even. But, you what u pay for I guess. It's definitely not the worst. But it lacks loving touch for sure.
Rainy Days
Great course, great management = a great day of golf, even in the rain.
Just once in a while
I've golfed this course probably fewer than any of the variety of courses I visit but it's a good course. I had a great time.
