About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Surprised
Very surprised at the shape the course was in. I haven’t played here in a couple of years and it is in the best shape by FAR that I have ever seen. Greens perfect and fairways were all in god shape. Will definitely be back soon.
Great Course, Great Value, Great People
Great course. Fairways are plush. The greens are in great shape. I only ended up in one bunker, thankfully, so I didn’t pay attention to the quality. The one I bunker I did hit had a good deal of clay mixed in, but it still played soft.
I played early as a single and would have ended up behind several foursomes, but the pro shop manager- I didn’t get his name- was awesome and showed me how to get in front of them and finish on the first hole. I ran into the greens keeper out on the course and had a short conversation. He’s another great guy and a hard worker. I drove over an hour to play here and I definitely will be back.

The staff alone made this course worth it, he was insanely nice and funny. Course was great but a lot of hills but overall fun to play
Great Weekday Course
We played on a Thursday, mid-morning, great weather, and had no one slowing us down or speeding us up. It was our second time at the course, both weekdays, but felt like we were the only ones there!
AWESOME!
This was our second time at this course and we loved it even though it was more challenging than our home club. The greens are beautiful and the new management is doing a great job at making it even better. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely make this a regular in our club rotation.
Great challenge
The course is looking a lot better they are making progress with fixing some bad areas and now have a bar and grill area but was not open

The staff here are the BEST!! I don't come here every week or every month..but when I do the remember my name and always have jokes and are great to have little convo's with while checking in! The course was in great shape and it looks like they are in the process of making many improvements. The value for this course is great and will always come back to play here. The only bad thing I can say is the bunkers need some work. Over all, great place to play
