About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Slow Pace of Play
I understand that it was a Saturday day, but it was a long day waiting on each shot with people behind us waiting as well. The course is nice but super difficult for a beginner like me.
Greens were nicely up kept
Awkward layout, no clubhouse at the 9th hole and there isn't a 9 hole break to eat anything
Great value, no range
Would have gotten more 5s but there was no driving range
Nostalgic for the past
Haven't played here in a couple of years. The club house, cartpaths, and other amenities are in need of repair. The fairways are sparse of grass and the greens were not cut . Very fuzzy. And bare spots. Tee boxes also want for grass.
Just 4 or 5 years ago this course was in good shape.
Good shape
The course itself is in good shape but I have to question the temporary tee boxes on a couple of holes don't understand why and most tee boxes were hard and tough to get a tee in the ground. Course is one of the better values in the area overall good for the price
Good course
This is a good course, however, the fairways were hard due to lack of rain.
Average golf course
Due to Coronavirus, not enough carts, we had waited until other players had to finish.
There were a lots of temporary tee off areas.
Good value.
Staff super as always. Would prefer donut in the holes like other courses are using to make it a bit more like normal if that’s a thing. Otherwise great day with my sons. Thx for taking good care it us.
Course
The course is ok if you are not an expert at golfing and just looking for a good time to golf with your buddies and have fun. The fairways are not all grass they have some weeds and look like they have not been cut in a few weeks, but we still had a good time. The greens are ok they are slower they were painting the greens when we were there. We will be back because the price is good and it is a wide open course. We will be back.
