Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

very nice course
cart path only because of TS Andrea.Tough going in 92 degree heat
. other wise everything was great
the course is fun to play
this course has 27 holes so you can mix it up, fun and not to demanding so a beginner can have a good time to.
Needs attention
Tee box were spread with sand. Grass around the greens are poor and spiked. Can't chip. Fairways don't have lot of grass.
Three 9-hole courses on a rotational basis.
Good condition. Greens still coming back from aeration but good shape
It seems they never water the course or enforce pace of play. The pace of play was so horrible we quit after 14 holes.
Oak Forest is the least challenging and worst looking. Between the 3rd and 4th holes I felt like I was in a prison yard with all the rusting outdoor weight lifting equipment, benches and dumbells.
Bring a hammer so you can get a tee in the ground and expect to over pay for a glorified city owned muni course. As a women maybe I notice these things more readily than a man, but that setting and the garbage on the course was discusting. I regularly shoot in the 80's. I will be shooting those rounds elsewhere.
This course is great to play, our favorite in the area!!
This course is great to Play with 27 holes you can switch it up each time you play 18. Wescott is definitely our favorite course to play in the area!!
Terrible!
Do yourself a favor and golf somewhere else! This is by far the worst golf course I have ever played. From the tees to the fairways to the greens, absolutely pathetic! I have never seen such a poorly maintained golf course and it should be shut down for the condition it's in and what they are charging. Consider this your warning to play somewhere else!
Fair Course
Their green's rank in the top 5 for green speed, fast.
Great deal for the money
The course has 27 holes so they usually have it set up so you wont have to get stuck behind people. Friendly staff, good maintenance, never have a problem. Highly recommended.
Best place to play in N. Charlseton/Summerville area
I live here on the second hole of Oak Forest. I would get a membership if I played more but the wife and I play every weekend and I play once during the week. We use Golfnow.com for every t-time. A great value. I can attest to the shape and how well maintained this course is. I hear them every morning with leaf blowers cleaning the greens and jet blowers on the fairways. Compared to the other 3 or 4 courses, it is also the one that drains the best. Almost May and will be perfectly plush in 1 to 2 weeks! I recommend this course to everyone.
Was better before has gone downhill a lot
Most tee boxes lack grass (played white tees). Many fairways lacked grass and there was too much hard pan. On the Black Robin which was my favorite I was surprised they tore down the bathrooms which used to be accessible from the 5th and 7th holes. On the 6th they have cut away all the natural foliage away. It looks like they are clearing land. I hope they are not going to build anymore there. It is so over crowded already.
I am not sure if the cart girl was having a bad day or was just not friendly and did not care if she did any business. We saw her twice. She did not wave or acknowledge us. Not even an a hello or can I get you anything today?
I golf all the time on using golf now and had to take several months off. I was planning to make Westcott my staple but after yesterday when I saw what became of this complex, I will just pass. The traffic in the area, which I know the course can not control but is a result of the ridiculous amount of construction going on (loads of apartments) is another disincentive to play a run down course whose staff could care less if you are there.
Nice course an amazing staff with great deals!
Would play it again , again and again! I recommend this to everyone.
poor course conditions
Little if any grass on tee boxes or entire course, its like playing a dirt track course. No ranger, horrible slow pace of play
poor conditions
Poor conditions, little if any grass on the tee boxes or entire course. No rangers, horrible pace of play.
Great Round of Golf
Westcott staff is always very friendly and courteous. The course offers nice views and a decent challenge for the casual (few times a month) golfer.
Nice facilities, 27 holes
There are 5 sets of tees, so it worked well for my wife and I. Conditions could have been better, but it has been a long winter in SC, so not as green as it usually is this time of year. Greens were firm, but putted very true. Staff was very accommodating. Great value going though Golfnow.
great par 5's, too much hazard area on black course
even though enjoyed playing, whoever cuts the cups needs a refresher course. there were crowns around almost every hole.
Course was in terrible shape. Very little grass on fairway and the tee boxes were dirt. Sand traps had inconsistent sand and greens were spotty.
We teed off at 10:40 and finished ar 4:30. We saw No rangers untill one showed up to tell us we had to be off the course by 4:00. When we asked why no rangers were on the course to help the pace of play they said they were understaffed. Some how they were not understaffed to take our money and tell us to get off the course.
Great course, enjoyed the 18 holes played
The course was in great shape and the staff will on top of everything!!
Thanks!!
