Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Excellent residential course that is very forgiving for beginners.
Overall a great place to play. Due to weather conditions the day before, the greens were a little rough. All told, a really nice place to play.
fun day with family
weather was perfect. The course was great. Had a wonderful time with the family - two boys just learning golf. Play was slow due to lost balls but that's just beginners luck. Otherwise would recommend this course to anyone who loves a nice challenge.
Great Course for the Money
Using the golf now app I got a tee time for $35 pp. The course was in great shape. The greens were a little fuzzy, but with all the rain we've had that wasn't a surprise. Course had a few tight holes, but it was largely open. I would go back.
Worth the money.
The course seemed well maintained overall, but I played it a week after the greens were plugged when it was worthless trying to putt seriously, so I have a limited perspective. There are three 9's...one is easy, one moderate, and one that's tough. I think the tougher one (Burn Kill), is the most enjoyable and memorable. I'll play this course again when it's healed and I suspect it will be a pleasure.
Great Course for the money!!
I read some reviews here of this course that were not great. I was leary of booking, but very glad I did. The staff was super friendly. Saw marshalls out many times monitoring pace of play and asked us how things were going. I had a tee time just by myslef as I was visiting the area, but told the starter I didn't mind playing with a group. He put me with a super nice fater and son and even took time to go up to range to introduce me. Cart lady was out and about plenty. Greens had just been aerated but still in great shape given that. Course was very nicely maintained. I will not hesitate to go back.
Fairways are nice, just don't miss them.
Greens have been punched with the deep holes. I played on 7-15-13, the greens will need at least two weeks to return to normal. It isn't worth $20 at this time. I would wait until 8-1-13 to play it again.
Great course!
The day I went the course was a little wet due to rain but still very playable and in great condition, except the aerated greens. But overall a great experience!
great round
great layout and challenge. had recently aerated the greens :(
it's that time of the year!!!!!!!
great day
I made this reservation without knowing anything about the course and really enjoyed my day there
I played with my son and we were paired with another 2some and had a great time
the course is really well laid out and very scenic too which added to the experience
Alligator in pond
Enjoyable course. Good layout. Course was in great condition.
good value
Cant beat the resident rates! It also played relatively fast even though the course was wet and carts had to be kept to paths only. The ranger was actually successful at moving along a slow 4some.
Course is great, challenging and staff is just FANTASTIC!
The course was wet because we had 15+ inches of rain but still the staff was able to get us out on the course. The greens were in mint condition despite the rain. Just a few casual water spots but that's to be expected. Even with the elements I was able to shoot my best round in years! 78 :)
Course was well maintained and staff was very friendly. Great value.
Fairways were wide with many bunkers but course was set up to allow a good pace of play. Not very busy but they had a tournament in the morning. Will play again when we are in the area.
Great layout, but the greens need some attention !
Loved the course layout, some reachable par 5's & average 4's. The rough was not difficult to play from, but the greens needed much attention.
Enjoyed it
Really playable, great condition. 3 nines makes it different each time.
The Course was in Good Shape
The course was maintained and in good condition. Did not see a marshall all day. Had a group of people behind us that were very impatient. The group behind us hit into us twice on the back 9. Also, did not see a cart person.
The greens could use some work, but overall the course is really nice
Play has been slow twice this weekend. Once Saturday and once Sunday. I'd like to see an official riding around more to keep play moving. Sunday we waited several minutes for each shot, and even saw a group of 5-6 people on a green, with the group in front of us in the fairway waiting, and us waiting in the tee box. Play was extremely slow on the back 9 for us on Fathers Day.
This course has great options
Overall the course has great options and is convenient for those living in the area.
Needs Real Golf Maintaince Experts..some real lazy upkeep noticed.
As a Member and Oakforest resident, I walk the Oak alot..Alot..the maintaince staff just seems like they dont care alot or dont have the golf knowledge neccessary to provide real upkeep that patrons notice. The markers on tees arent moved enough creating ruts and dead pan grass areas. The mowing of greens is uneven and rushed with obvious tracks made from equipment. Rangers need to be around...There is NO course supervision what so ever..They arent even on the starting holes and disappear after 5pm. Very poorly managed. Do yourself a favor and play Coosaw..they will impress you!
