Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

fair yardage for weekend players
great pace of play, course was in good condition on all holes.
You cannot beat the bang for the buck. Fun course at a great price.
Went to this course twice on my vacation; the first day and the last day. We scheduled the second day because it was such a great experience. However, the second day (a Sunday) we were behind a twosome who were EXTREMELY slow. One of them kept hitting two or three extra drives and, at times, extra shots on the fairway. My brother and I tried to coax them along but they were in their own world. Eventually it got very backed up and we ran out of daylight on the 18th. The people behind us probably did not finish. I would still go back because the first day was unexpectedly good, but they should have someone check occasionally to move play along.
I enjoyed rarely seeing people while playing
the course is nice, very well kept with pretty fast greens, there are bunkers in the middle of the fairway near lay-up spots, so that adds some difficulty. But overall a good course that felt semi secluded for how many homes lined the course.
Course was in excellent shape, staying in the short grass was well rewarded.
Facility is 27 holes (three nines). We played Oak Forest and Burn Kill (other nine is Black Robin) from whites. Course was in excellent shape, staying in short grass was rewarded as rough was brown, a little knappy and just long enough to hide balls, especially when there were fallen leaves in area. Pace of play was good but we were a afternoon twosome with two's ahead and behind us. Greens, though turning brown were soft, fast and smooth and putted true. The biggest challenge for me was length, with only some water to contend with. Houses were along the course in some areas but are set well back and away from probable miss-hit locations. Overall an excellent course. Will play again.
Excellent value, course and clubhouse well maintained.
After playing this course three times in the last three weeks both my wife and I found it to be fair and in good shape. Staff were reasonably helpful and friendly. Greens were in excellent shape running moderately fast and sand traps were excellent. Fairways were moderately generous in width and regularly cut. Houses were mostly obscured by forest. Two minor complaints were time for food preparation at the turn so be sure to phone your order in from the 9th tee (but note that no landline is provided) and lack of marshal(s) makes for a long round on the weekend.
Awesome value
Awesome value at a beautiful course. Golfnow rate was huge savings.
Course has 3 nine holes so we felt like the course was all ours, never rushed from behind or slowed by those in front. Greens seemed very fast and were in great shape.
A Good Outing
First time I'd played this course. A good place for a friendly outing. Course looks simple from the tee boxes but plays deceptively challenging. Take some friends and enjoy a nice course.
Very playable course
Fairways good condition, greens are fast, stay out of roughs.
great time
i played only nine and ale only paid for nine but the pro told me i could play as much as the sun would let me. if i hadn't had something to go to i might have been able to play a second nine. great course and putt was challenging. hard to read. i loved it
Nice Course
Wescott is a nice course for this area. Condition is usually good. Greens usually hard and fast. Course can be a little muddy if it has recently rained. Not the best drainage.
GREAT COURSE FOR THE PRICE
My brother and I try to play once a week different courses around Charleston. Wescott to me is the best bang for the buck. Always in good shape.
each hole has its own personality and challeng
A very friendly staff at all areas, always a smile when I drive up and to the club house staff. I play as a single and have always had great pairings to play with. The water stations are nicely placed and refreshing. The course is in excellent shape and I have played many of the top 100 in the US. I like the challenge of which nine I am going to play. The variety of tees to play from offer a different hole from where you tee off from. A great course.
Very fair course for all skill levels.
Tee boxes level for the most part. Fairways in excellent conditon. Greens are moderately fast and run true. Love to play this course.
My new weekly spot!!!
Westcott use to be a little pricy, However since they have lowered the rates and continued with the well mantained course they have always had this is now a great spot for golf. Its well priced if not cheap for a 3 9hole course. Black Robin lives up to its name as being challenging and both Oak Forest and Burn Kill are a great place to test you skills. Hit them straight and you will enjoy this course. Some room for error if your off the fairway.
Three scenic nines
Very friendly staff. The three nines offer different challenges. The greens roll true and are well kept.
Nice layout, varied holes-good condition
The 27 hole format allows better speed of play when it is busy, some narrow fairways, but very playable. Greens are sometimes a bit inconsistent, but in nice shape. Bottled Water always available for free! If you use Golf Now --extremely good value, as I live on the course and can tee off at 5pm and get in 18 by 8pm.
Love the course, some staff could be a bit more friendly.
